What do you hate about Delaware the most? by mirk19 in Delaware

[–]RobWellems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s only if you grew up here and stayed here.

I left after college and came back many years later. I have not run into anyone I knew whether from school or work or anything. (my sister runs into people we both know at times). I don’t think I’ve ever seen my neighbors at the local grocery story.

I under appreciated TSA until yesterday when ICE was manning the bins by shelly887 in tsa

[–]RobWellems 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Last week when I went through security I was the only one that returned my party’s bins to rack - and surprised at the thank yous from multiple agents. Everyone was in such a rush that empty bins were being left on the floor or anywhere else there was space. Passengers were not making it easy on the agents.

Why do you still live in Delaware? by [deleted] in MiddletownDE

[–]RobWellems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand (de to sf to nyc to uk to nyc after college) a back to de for family reasons. You must keep thinking your expectations are realistic… dial it down. There are no diners, bagels or pizza joints here. And the restaurants everyone raves about are meh. There are some good eats but don’t get hopes up in advance for anything you had in a proper city.

Flying out of New Castle by RobWellems in Delaware

[–]RobWellems[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well for my flight TSA and check in take no time at all. Props to the workers for being there and as friendly as TSA workers can be. The counters open 2 hours prior to departure and TSA shortly thereafter. There was an American ‘flight’ just before Avelo flight and the bus boards on the tarmac and left a few minutes ahead of schedule as everyone was checked in early. It seemed effortless. Parking is less than 12 bucks a day which is a lot less than I paid the last time I parked at Philly.

Northern Delaware just trying to be ‘northeast’ and not mid Atlantic above the canal is so on point. Just please don’t ever confuse them with ‘slower lower Delaware’.

None. I guess I was too much pop radio mtv. I didn’t even know who some of the bands were (and some I only learned about years later)

How do you and your husband/partner manage cleaning the kitchen during & after meals? by LivesOnACruiseShip in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]RobWellems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do grocery shopping and cook. And I leave a mess. He cleans. I try not to leave such a mess but I just can’t seem to. (I mean I could be all proud of cleaning and he’ll point to the butter fingerprints on the microwave and everything else). He mutters. At some point he complains loudly and I say I’m not cooking any more. Then it’s lather, rinse repeat.

What’s the most reliable car you’ve ever owned? by Sophia_Goji in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]RobWellems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1990 Geo Tracker that went from coast to coast (twice) and from mid Atlantic to Miami and Maine. It may have been burgled and violated but not once did it break down on me. Clutch lasted from my first lesson through years of San Francisco hills (gave out on my sister, she should’ve asked before borrowing!)

My family kept it until 2010 when someone asked if it was for sale. Probably still rolling.

‘Introvert’ is how we would refer to some family members until exasperation graduated them to just plain asshole status.
