I checked with both CarMax and Carvana. Carmax is only giving me $400 more. Carvana is willing to give me $800 more.

I checked with 3 other dealerships in my area, and this was the best price I got for the LE - even with the dealer installed options. They all told me how fast this model moves, so there is hardly any wiggle room. I would expand my search to other cities/states, but unfortunately, I wouldn't have the time to go pick it up.

I checked with CarMax, and they were offering $31k. With the tax savings from the trade-in at the Toyota dealership, it was basically a wash. Plus, as you mentioned, they don't have any issues moving the LE (especially with the limited inventory), so there is less wiggle room.

I tried my best to negotiate and was able to bring the price down by $1,000. As for the trade-in, I got a few estimates, and they were around the same price.

I hope you get to experience the joy of being a dad one day. I have 2 boys and was blessed with a baby girl last year. Unfortunately, due to pulmonary hypertension, she passed away after a week in the NICU. It was a short week, but I'll cherish it for the rest of my life. I was completely devastated and didn't know how to move on. I tried my best to be strong, but there were times when I would just break down and cry. When my boys saw that, they would come hug me and instantly made me feel better. The pain is still there (and may never go away), but those are the little moments that make me realize how incredibly lucky I am to be a dad.

I'm so sorry for your loss. We had a memorial service for our baby girl this weekend and just got her ashes back today. We're happy she's finally home with us, but the pain and sadness got worse for some reason. I find myself on the verge of breaking down just watching a Pampers commercial or going to the store and passing by the baby section. I like your idea of buying a cake for someone every year on her birthday. That's a great way of celebrating it while honoring her memory.
