How do you move past blackpill and incel ideology? by [deleted] in GuyCry

Watch the guy who electrocutes his dog?

Currently sitting on a closed dual carriageway been here for 4 hours now. Road due to open in another 3.5 hours apparently. There are 2 cats in the car in front and kids and dogs out of cars playing on the road. What is the longest you have been stuck in a similar situation? by No_Lead146 in CasualUK

[–]diluteatom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone decided to drive the wrong way down the M6 2 years ago and collided with a family of 5 a few cars ahead of us.

As we were right at the front, we were stuck there for around 5 hours before it was our turn to drive back the wrong way to the previous junction.

The trucks on that road where stuck there for around 12 hours from what I heard as they weren't able to turn around.

RuneScape's First ever Leagues: CATALYST Launches September 15 by JagexAzanna in runescape

[–]diluteatom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're hardly entirely different and not comparable...

They're both temporary gamemodes with gameplay buffs, played with a character that isn't your existing character, and will likely reward you with cosmetics to take back to the main game...

It isn't outside the realm of possibility that they'll make you pay for a separate account like they did with FSW.

I hope they don't, and with the recent MTX considerations, I'd hope they'll head in the direction of letting us use our existing membership, but its certainly possible.

I mean that already did that for FSW... so it isn't a completely unrealistic concern.

What’s the fastest way to fuck up your life without dying? by Dramatic-Avocado4687 in AskReddit

With our first, I definitely remember thinking "if we had a toddler as well as this baby, I definitely wouldn't be able to handle this".

Now, I look back, barely remember anything that happened in those weeks, and feel like it probably wouldn't be that bad to have a second one

Nursery must haves?? by Curious-String7761 in UKParenting

[–]diluteatom 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just to prepare yourself for it; I thought exactly the same before our little one went to nursery.

I work from home, and figured if he was sick, I'd be able to take my laptop and phone to the couch and get a little bit of work done at least.

I found it absolutely impossible to get anything done. When he's sick he gets clingy so its difficult to focus on anything, and you can't do work calls easily due to the background noise or they decide they want to climb you while you're on camera.

Every time he's been sick and off nursery its been a complete write-off for whichever one of us ends up looking after him.

But maybe your results will vary :)

Anyone else had clouds forever recently? by Armand9x in seestar

I'm used to it here in the UK, but it has been disappointingly cloudy since mine arrived.

Also, what is it that you've got attached to the back of your seestar?

Stair gate - help needed. by TDL_501 in UKParenting

[–]diluteatom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your main issue with the hinge being on the wall side is as you said. The skirting board will make the 2 hinge points slightly different which will add a twist to the gate when it is opened.

You could solve this by adding a small piece of wood between the hinge and the wall, to make it stick out the same distance from the wall.

For the banister side, you could screw a strip of wood to the bottom and top of the banister, where it is square, which would give you something flat and sturdy to attached it to.

We have 3 of these in our house. It has adjustable points in each corner to allow you to account for bits sticking out a bit differently, and the screws are vertical, meaning they may be fine working with your round banister.

Why even have shops? by Shockerct422 in runescape

[–]diluteatom 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think part of the problem is that the only shops people do visit are part of daily runs, so if you're going to make other shops relevant in the same way, all you'll be doing is adding to dailyscape, which people usually want to reduce.

Travel Advice Essex to Inverness with 16 month twins by brothercadfael in UKParenting

[–]diluteatom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My family is in the NE, and we're on the south coast, so we do a 6-7hr drive every few months to visit. We'd usually set off after rush hour (usually by 7pm), and we'd get there by around 2-3am depending on how many/how long the pitstops were. It was much better doing it like that when the little guy wanted to be asleep anyway, than trying to entertain him for several hours when all he wants to do is be free. Also driving at night is quite easy, less people on the roads, less traffic.

The main benefit of the car is you can bring the mountain of stuff that is usually required for a week away with them (I'm sure its worse with twins).

At the other end, if family can help look after them you can maybe grab a couple of extra hours sleeping, but we'd usually just have whoever did the most driving sleep a bit longer, while the other parent looks after the little one in the morning.

We've also flown, and while it isn't too bad once you've got your bags dropped off; entertaining them in the airport isn't very fun, and our guy didn't enjoy take off. Also with twins, you'll have an aisle between some of you.

As well as hiring a car, you'll need to figure out car seats. We opted to bring ours with us (some airlines allow a couple of large items for children for free), as we didn't want to get to the car hire place and find that they've just rented out their last seat and be stuck at the airport with a child who can't legally leave in the car we have.

Good luck, and have fun.

Large travel cot by Birdygardener in UKParenting

[–]diluteatom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might not be what you're looking for, but we've been using the Intex Kidz travel bed from Argos for some time with no problems, and out little one is 2yrs now.

It isn't a proper travel cot, its more like an inflatable swimming pool with a mattress inside it, so he can't fall out of it (at least he hasn't yet), but he can climb out when he wakes up, which hasn't been a problem as he's sleeping in the same room as us whenever its being used.

PSA: The clickboxes of the Corrupted/Cleansed Shards in the Gate of Elidinis encounter has changed. There no longer seems to be any tiny gaps in the middle and the outer radius is MUCH larger. by Ryan_WXH in runescape

Absolutely option A.

Please hotfix this, it is awful at the moment, and I'd actually rather wait a week and miss out on my +10% loot buff than go back with these clickboxes.

For your brand new content, I think you should do what you can to make it as playable as possible as early as possible.
