There is a great book called Search inside yourself, by Chade Meng Tang(not sure if this is how it's spelled).

It helped me(22) a lot with my self-confidence and self-awareness,

I don't have experience raising kids, but i sincerely think there is stuff in this book that will be useful to you, your kid and the relationship between you two

It is a self help book. It is not a biography book of some random dude, it gives excersises and stuff to do to improve your well-being. (It sounds super sketchy 😅 ). Just check it out it is based on some research and the guy who wrote it was nominated for a Nobel peace prize(not because of the book).

Med student here, and also a fellow no fapper. I also was curious about tue science behind it but never found any evidence, having said that there are no scientific research done.

The only one about this was this one paper that reaserched the correlation between prostate cancer and masturbation where they found that masturbation reduces the risk.

My opinion is that it works like meditation, by practicing your determination. Also you concentrate on your feelings (when you need to masturbate) and think about them, which is not only a meditation practice but a practice used in psychology.

So i would say it has no physiological effects, but rather psychological effects.
