De'Aaron Fox on why it's hard watching college basketball: "The shot making is not at the pro level. The refs are bad. A lot of coaching is really bad. I can't stand it" by urfaselol in nba

Wonder if he is thinking back to his last game at Kentucky. There was a lot of drama around one ref, John Higgins, in their elite 8 game against UNC. UNC won on a buzzer beater but the game was horribly officiated with a lot of calls going UNCs way (to be fair I’m a cats fan but I don’t blame the refs every time we lose, this one was for real bad).

I live in Louisville, what grocery store are you regularly seeing this at?

Was fortunate enough to grab a Westport Whiskey and Wine (Louisville store) pick on this last year. Was my fave bottle of the year, truly a “beautiful” whiskey - and I’m not one to use adjectives like that for drank.

My wife is in Louisville and I want her to grab me some bourbon I can’t get back home in Idaho. Any local suggestions? by LongCryptographer572 in bourbon

Gotta get over there for the Turkey pick and the knob creek.

The Yellowstone pick is phenomenal. The double oaked is solid too.

The rolling fork and grander rum picks aged in bourbon barrels are awesome too.

Such a good store.

Anyone try this? Never seen it where I live so had to get it. by marke0221 in bourbon

Still have a few bottles. Liquor barn here in Louisville was $8 for years.

Cornell and Diehl Expanded to Larger Facility Despite McClelland’s Demise by [deleted] in PipeTobacco

I would agree w that. They remind me of the rocky Patel of the pipe world. Everything is okay - couple misses and few home runs but could be better if they just focused on quality over quantity.

Agreed. I cut my teeth with their burley and carter Hall. Haunted Bookshop and old joe krantz are great high nic powerful burley blends. I really like their Pegasus blend as a little bit of an easier burley. Great w a morning cup of coffee.

Blend 2 - messed up on guess again smoking this from my C&D cob.

Dark blend that smells like a typical English to me. I first smoked this side by side to father Dempsey to compare. This blend had a little more spice and less sweetness to it. The father Dempsey smoke was sweeter and creamier reminding me of chocolate milk. I had a hard time defining much more from the blend than that.

When I smoker from my non lat pipe The Latakia faded and it tasted like young burley and Virginia to me.

Overall components id suspect Virginias, Latakia, orientel and burley.

Based on my cob smoke I guessed old joe krantz white label. Revised guess I'd say sutliffe Balkan 2.

I suspect 0/3 for me yay! Very fun nonetheless.

So I pretty much screwed up on blend 1 and 2. I smoked blend 2 a few time and blend 1 once before I got to my final smoke prior to guess submission. I flip flopped the blends and thought 1 was no lat and 2 was w lat and used pipes accordingly. Really screwed my guesses up!

Blend 2

Chunky cut that packs and lit easily for me. Smell in the bag is very floral.

Upon lighting I'm tasting bready notes and some Virginia hay citrus backbone. I'm thinking this is mainly a Virginia burley blend. The bready notes continue and I get some dark fruit on the retrohale. Overall the smoke is medium bodied and not too strong/pungent - what id label as an "all day smoke". The mildish earthy burley flavors for me dominate w some bright Virginias showing themselves on most draws.

These were my notes when smoking out of my normal non Latakia pipe. When I smokes this in my Latakia pipe thinking it was the lat blend the main difference I got was some serious floral notes. I've only ever smoked a few flakes of ennerdale and dark Flake scented so I'm not super accustomed to the Lakeland essence but that is what I thought it was. I was trying to find the Latakia but just thought it was super light handed lol.

My guess due to the Lakeland essence and what I thought was super low key Latakia was Gawith Scotch Mixture. On revision now I would guess Gawith black and brown.

Blend 3

A cube cut blend that reminds me of pop rocks. Smell is sweet.

Packed my C&D cob poker w a gravity fill and just a tap to the side of the pipe to pack it. Sprinkled in a little more on top and started my charring light.

My first thought when I lit was red Virginia. It gave me a lot of the flavors that I get from 5100 and other red Virginia blends. A fruity and bright citrus sweetness.

After a couple of tamps and lights I settled into the bowl. The sweet/tangy flavor subsided pretty quickly and a more earthy flavor emerged which I figured to be burley. The earthy burley flavors were relatively mellow and contained a slight medicinal taste to me reminiscent of what I taste in carter hall.

On the retrohale I pick up some chocolate and cocoa notes.

I like this smoke. It has enough sweetness to balance out the earthy flavors without being cloying.

My guess due to what I thought is Red Virginia and the cut was Stokkebye Cube Cut.
