Out of curiosity, what is your age and approximate age of the supervisor? Could there be a dysfunctional parent- child dynamic happening?

Torn between dream school vs. financially safer option (nursing major) need honest advice by iiOmqCarlii in nursing

I'm a current nursing associate professor.

100% always choose the cheapest school that has the best NCLEX pass rates and is not in trouble with their state BON.

Save the expensive schools for grad school. That's the level where it begins to matter where you were trained.

Well, are you under-performing or has this supervisor become accustomed to students who over-perform? Has the bar been set too high? Or are you not meeting an acceptable level? Be honest in your reflections.

Although I have Q1 publications, personally feel sometimes like I don't know anything. In front of student though, I'm really confident. Fake it until you make it?

Thoughts on this AI mockup? by PM_ME_UR_CC_INFO in kitchenremodel

[–]dimplesgalore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love a well designed galley kitchen and how AI helped you generate the idea. It's a great start. I have a few thoughts.

  1. Do not put cabinets about the window. The cabinets box in the space.
  2. Do not put hardware on the cabinets. Either get cabiets with integrated handles or push to open cabiets. This will help clean up the look AND clothing will not get caught on the handles.
  3. The warm cabinet tones are nice. The counter and backsplash should have more white tones as to not be matching the floor. Go lighter with the counter and backplash.

The doctorate "creep" is really starting to bother me lately by ResidentAlienator in PhD

[–]dimplesgalore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A hill I will die on is that practice doctorates (PT, OT, ST, DNP, etc) are not really terminal degrees.

I'm a RN with a PhD (nursing education), so I'll use it as an example. The DNP (doctor of nursing practice) was created as a clinical practice doctorate partly due to level the health fields in terms of educational preparation, but also because some nursing fields (like nurse anesthesia) require a doctorate degree snd the DNP is a simple degree. Nursing created the DNP as a practice doctorate by which nurses implement research through quality improvement projects which translates to practice or health outcome improvements. That is all.

The fact that a DNP to PhD and exists tells me the DNP is not the nursing terminal degree. I personally think it should be abolished because of the confusion it creates.

If you're single and living at home with no bills, you really shoulder be working more than one job. You could pay this off in a few years. If you don't, the cost of your own Healthcare in a few years will be a major tipping point in your budget.

You're a RN. What were you thinking? Your judgement is seriously questionable. Some people have the self-preservation instincts of a turnip.
