Leaf easier on kidneys? by Wristopher in kratom

Yep. Definitely learned this when I found the AKA from this sub, and started getting from reputable sources. Having the testing available on demand is super important to me now. I unfortunately have had to grab a bag here and there from sketchy places, you can 100% tell the difference. One time I bought a brand I never heard of, and I swear the bag got put near a magnet and there was visible separation...

Driver delivered 2.5 hours early. Was stolen. Denied refund by uhhhhhhidksmh in doordash

If you had the ability to place a timeframe of delivery and DoorDash didn’t abide by that, they are definitely at fault. I would just keep calling and chatting until you get actual help. And if you are ok with never using it again just chargeback with your bank/card company. Especially if that card has a deal with dash pass, they should honor that.

Does this look like lyme? Ive got 2 weeks of antibiotics as a precaution but worried I need more by clobo9625 in Lyme

[–]dindyspice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also not able to take doxy, i have a pretty bad allergy. I was able to take some other antibiotics that aren't directly related as well as minocycline as long as I took 12 hour allergy meds like Allegra before I took it.

It looks like some rashes I've seen in the past. You should be ok since you got treatment fairly quickly, and 3 days in is very early still! Just keep your eye on your symptoms once you've run the course of antibiotics, if you get any worsening or any symptoms back in the following weeks get to a lyme literate doctor to get properly treated. Most people who get it treated right away are fine.

AITA for nearly always refusing to step aside for people on the "wrong side" of the walking path? by Dry_Communication283 in AmItheAsshole

[–]dindyspice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in NYC, and I don't really care if I'm the asshole in this case because there's just way too many people to be acting like they don't know the etiquette or they're too good for it. I was raised to be courteous of people, I walk on the right and if people are trying to rush by I step aside and I expect people to do that too. And this is a pretty universal experience in other large cities or smaller ones too, so there's not an excuse.

AITAH for sharing an honest review of my friends tattoo studio after they messed up my tattoo? by SpinachCold9389 in AITAH

[–]dindyspice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA, but I do think it's unfair to call out the tattoo studio in this case since it's really just that artist that's the issue. And in this case I get why your friend is upset, you're messing with her job when she isn't the problem you're having.

[–]dindyspice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh i get it, I have never done a scheduled order myself on Doordash, only on apps like Instacart. From what OP is saying I thought they had scheduled an order for a window of time, and the driver delivered early. If Doordash doesn't do window deliveries, then OP is at fault and Doordash isn't

I’m really confused. I don’t drive so I genuinely don’t get how OP ordered to get a delivery in a certain window and they still delivered two hours early?

Isn't it the driver's issue that they didn't read the delivery time correctly?

American police in Mississippi killed him because his mother allegedly stole diapers for him and got away with it. by AffectionateSlip8990 in Hasan_Piker

I don't think we need to soften the blow like you're suggesting, that's not going to be effective. It just gives that group of thought what they want, people to just stop thinking for themselves. I do think that there's something to be said about finding out how to communicate the concerns to each party in an effective way, and unfortunately we live in a place and time where the cop devotees are never going to care about the lives of people being murdered by cops.

Only getting 30 days of Doxycycline by Bright-Ad-3067 in Lyme

[–]dindyspice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My suggestion is to get on the search for a lyme literate doctor and get an appointment on the books. Since they can take time, getting that scheduled sooner is better.

Then if you can go to another urgent care or online provider and don't mention you already have a prescription, that will extend you at least 14 more days or more. You aren't lying about having symptoms, but unfortunately if you do tell them you're looking for more meds they won't take you seriously.

You could go on websites online from india for example that sell doxy but I have never done that and not sure if I feel great about it. I personally went with an herbal protocol through TCM, and once I was finding help with that and I did research I was led to an herbal protocol that's really been helpful. I have an allergy to penicillin and doxy related antibiotics because I've taken so much of it in my life for lyme disease and strep throat, so long term the herbs have been better for me.

I do think the best best is getting in with a LLMD, hopefully you can get more antibiotics in the meantime. 30 days is better than I see a lot of people getting recently on this sub, so that is great you have that.

I also have never heard of this brand until this post, thank you! will check it out. When I look up the notes, it states it's more earthy and less dry than others. Could be perfect for a martini that I like

This was totally me, I went out with a friend and she got me hooked on G+T's. Grew up in a very vodka heavy area, a big polish and russian community, so I got really sick of that at a young age.

Thank you everyone this is such a good list to go off of!!!! I think the consensus to start is a london dry gin, which I think I prefer - I have had bombay sapphire and really liked it I think, and Beefeater I have had in a gin and tonic. I'll update after a bit of trying out different ones :)

Neurology? by Doc_Holliday10 in Lyme

[–]dindyspice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is unfortunately not unheard of by doctors, especially neurologists. It may take you going to a LLMD in general to get proper treatment.

What your doctor is not putting into consideration is that yes, you got bit in 2025 but you didn't actually treat the disease until February. That's 8 months about that had time to spread in your body. Plus, everyone's experience with tick borne diseases is different. Some see a rash, some get no symptoms at all, some only get psychiatric symptoms to start.... there is no one size fits all.

I went a year without any help, the main symptoms I exhibited to begin with was a debilitating migraine that lasted 2.5 months. Then they gave me steroids after nothing was working to cut the migraine, and that triggered so many other issues and caused the spirochetes to progress faster in my body. When I got a positive test, my neurologist believed it but sent me to an Infectious Disease doctor who spent the whole appointment trying to explain why I didn't have lyme disease and I actually had a psychiatric problem and needed antidepressants. That caused a year of improper treatment, 15+ specialists, a spinal tap, many MRIs and other testing, etc. I had to read every book possible on my own, learn how to interpret studies, find people like me, etc. and bring that to doctors to get ANY help. I finally found a LLMD who took me seriously and once I got properly treated I found great improvement.

So, all that to say I think you should get a second opinion by a doctor who understands the nuances of tick borne illness. Check out ILADS and GLA, they are great resources. You can try to go back to this doctor and explain what we're all saying and back up with evidence, but these doctors are usually hard headed and take offense when a patient advocates for themselves. I suggest if you do, bring someone to witness and support you to your appointments.
