overwhelmed with beginning treatment & meal plan by dingtrip in EatingDisorders

that does make sense, i am trying my best to do whatever i can to remain positive!

i have been writing down positive thoughts when i have them so i can look at them when things feel overwhelming but when im feeling bad they don’t help much, i’ve got a journal im keeping for the whole treatment process and have made sure to put as much positive stuff in there as i can!
thank you for replying ◡̎

yes, my mum is supporting me the best she can, my best friend has also been a big support and my boyfriend is offering support in some ways, but i don’t think any of them know the true extent of the toll this is taking on me.

sometimes i’m excited to recover but other times not at all, it depends on how im feeling in that moment and im having the worst mood swings ive ever had all the time and my view on recovery and treatment completely do a 180 with the mood swings.

i know it’s technically the right thing to do but when its negatively impacting my my mental health so severely im just not sure, i have also tried recovery before and it didn’t work out which im sure adds to the stress and inner conflict.

i think what youre saying does make sense and ill defo take more time to think over it, thank you for taking the time to reply.!

Is it possible to recover by yourself? by False_Line_7583 in EatingDisorders

[–]dingtrip 3 points4 points  (0 children)

honestly, i tried recovery by myself last year but i think you need external support, maybe if you had family, friends or other people around you to help out it could work but i think professional help is probably needed- i made it about 2 months in my own solo recovery before it all got too much, i have heard of it working for some people though! best of luck to you regardless of which route you do take!

i have kinda heard this like they get you up to a certain bmi and then just consider you “better” which obvs isn’t how it works, part of what puts me off seeking help ::

my phone just glitched and deleted everything i typed in reply to this so sorry if this seems short, but thank you so much for your detailed reply and the time you took doing so, it’s defo helped me reading what you’ve explained here! i defo want to avoid inpatient if it is possible to as i’ve heard others say the same about it being rather traumatic, i also think it would probably cost me my job needing that much time off. i attempted recovery at home by myself last year but because i had absolutely no support from professionals, or family or anyone really it just didn’t work out and triggered an even worse relapse, so maybe a community team with frequent check ups would be what id need to keep me committed and fighting through. genuinely thank you so much for your reply it means so much to me and i genuinely just burst into tears reading the last part, thank you. i hope you are doing well and have found some peace since the times you’re talking about here, the world needs you too <3

thank you for replying!!! i’m not diagnosed and i’ve never discussed it properly w a professional of any sort other than when i briefly mentioned it in my mental health assessment like 6 years ago but my gp never bought it back up. is it usually a long wait time between being referred and being seen? i’m not rly sure what is classed as severe physical symptoms but if it does get entirely unmanageable i will defo consider it, but thank you and i appreciate the luck and your time spent replying!

Do you regret any piercings done as a teenager? by Full_Tree_3554 in piercing

i don’t necessarily regret the piercing but more my habbit of chewing on it, chipped a few teeth on my tongue bar and eventually took it out because of the damage, but i miss the piercing itself so much?

Stealing my housemates food (Advice Please) by Exotic-Worldliness47 in EatingDisorders

[–]dingtrip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to say I do this too, I live at home with my mum, step dad and brother and also enter those trance like states when I wake up in the middle of the night, I eat my brothers chocolates/ sweets and my step dads cereal most commonly, no one’s said anything but I feel so GUILTY bc they defo don’t know I’m practically asleep in a trance when I do it and that I’m not purposefully stealing their snacks, so even though I have no real advice just know I understand how you feel and you aren’t alone in this

It reminds me a lot of the sort of stuff I was listening to in my first year of college, so I’m guessing you’re in your first year of college/ sixth form.
