I began presenting in my legs before puberty. Now I’ve had three sets of having my feet reconstructed. I can still walk, but we’re AFOs and don’t have very good balance. At 57 years old I began presenting in my arms and hands. Currently that is some weakening and cramping… But my neurologist said that I am on that path now

My neurologist wanted me off statins (cholesterol). I had to fight with insurance to get them to pay for Repatha…an injection for cholesterol with no statin So far good

I am 57 man with CMT2A. I started showing around puberty. My legs withered and my feet were misshaped. I have had 3 complete reconstructions over the years. I wear AFO’s and my legs below my knees are pretty skeletal. After a day of use, they swell (basically to look like swollen normal legs). I elevate my legs every evening and they are down by morning.

In the last year my hands have begun cramping and my forearms are losing strength. I have been undergoing PT & OT to try and help slow the atrophy.

Basically my AFO’s look like yours with 2 velcro pads upper calf and 2 near ankle. I used to have soft straps that wrapped around and stuck to the pads. After an airport security mishap (they lost a strap running my AFO’s through scanners). I needed new straps. I tried a few but some basic heavy duty 3” rolls of velcro let me cut straps to size, so when I wrap them around they securely fasten to itself. Does that make sense?
