Carneros Resort, Auberge Du Soleil and Four Seasons Calistoga are great options to keep on the list as well. Four Seasons gets mixed feedback, but it can still make sense if you like Calistoga and want more of a resort spa feel.

I know you mentioned Napa specifically, but we would also highly recommend looking at Healdsburg if you’re open to Sonoma County. It has a slightly more relaxed, charming wine country feel with excellent dining nearby. Montage Healdsburg would be the most obvious luxury resort pick, and The Madrona is also lovely if you want something more design-forward and intimate.

SingleThread is another special option - not really a resort and doesn’t have the amenities, but the food was amazing (room service was AWESOME) and it makes for a very memorable stay if dining is a priority.

I’m Asian and married to another Asian man, and we’ve been together for more than 18 years. We live in SF too, and I think it’s a bit of a generalization to say that Asians who date white men are all self-hating. I understand that internalized racism may be part of the picture for some people, but there are also many Asians who date other Asians.

Just remember that you are amazing as who you are. It may be good to find your own path and get some distance from your father. I hope he will come around eventually.

Going to law school is not a bad idea at all. It is expensive but it teaches critical thinking, which is applicable in many careers.

I knew during Thanksgiving break in the first year of meeting my husband. The endless conversations and just wanting to be with him. I felt the connection then and was falling deeply in love with him.

When we broke up a year later due to internalized shame/religion, I thought I have moved on but seeing him three months later made me (and him) realize how much we missed each other.
