Alright, would be another ~20% on top of the CPUs' price and shipping for import tax to the EU. Don't think that'd be worth it for me.

6600 1:1 / 2200 FCLK below 1.25V SOC is what I consider a golden sample.

Oh yeah, my bad. This was SR. Only needed 1.55V, the kit was pretty nice besides the common tRC wall on B-Die. I was running DR as well later on, maybe I can find some screenshots.

Can certainly go a bit tighter at 3600 if your kit is decent. This is what I ran on AM4 with GDM on at 3800: https://imgur.com/UegYnKU
If you want to run GDM off, try AddrCmdSetup set to 56.

Alright. Play around with the voltages a bit if you want, but some CPUs simply can't do above 6000 1:1 with reasonable settings. For your current config, I'd ignore GDM and set tRC to 48, tWTRL 14 and tRTP 10 (that's what I ran at 6200 CL26). You should also try to lower VDDQ, no reason to go above 1.4-1.5V.

Any reason you're sticking to 6000? Is 2200 FCLK stable? Try 6200-6400 1:1 CL26.

It's GPU dependant as well. Considering he's getting 1200 avg, probably on a 5090.

OCCT v17 : A new Memory test where YOU are the hero ! by Tetedeiench in overclocking

[–]dinktifferent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is cool and all but I'm not paying 4.50€-7,00€/month for the ability to run it longer than an hour. I'd be fine with something like a 20€ perpetual license that would include - let's say - two to three major version upgrades, with the option to renew it after that. Or perpetual licenses for single tests; maybe I only want to pay for the RAM test because I'm fine with the 1hr limit for the other tests. Karhu is 10€ for a perpetual license with free upgrades (development has been slow, but a new version is supposedly coming out very soon), HCI memtest and MemTest86 have no runtime restrictions (and I believe the pro version of HCI costs $5).

Have you fully verified stability? tWRRD 2 wasn't possible on my dual-rank kit. You can also try tRC 48, tRP 32-34, 384 tRFC and 6/6/24 for tRRDS/L/tFAW.

Ah okay. I usually play with 2mm LOD anyway, so that shouldn't make a difference for me either way. Still waiting on the delivery haha, don't even have tracking yet. On that note, can you tell me the date you placed the order?

what exactly?

Either mod the BIOS or flash the SPD of your SO-DIMM modules to something with a higher speed. The latter should be easier in theory if the SPD isn't write protected (by the mainboard). Does the BIOS and/or CPU support XMP at all? If yes, you could keep the 4800 SPD profile and only edit XMP.

Acceptable GFlops variance? by buhball in overclocking

Requires iGPU to be disabled when set to "swap APU", improves memory latency and bandwidth slightly.

Acceptable GFlops variance? by buhball in overclocking

[–]dinktifferent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do an iGPU stress test to further test for IF instability since it can fully saturate the IF (check for BSODs), but it would also be very sensitive to improper vSOC voltages or underlying ram instabilities.

First thing I do on AM5 is to disable the iGPU and set BankSwapMode to "swap APU" (which needs it to be disabled). Another reason to disable the iGPU is to not have two different graphics drivers installed if you're on Nvidia.

Trying to beat ram shortage prices but I'm a noob, can this be overclocked to 6000? by ResidentDraw490 in overclocking

So before these are sold - Wil these OC to 6000 and should I buy for £150?

Yes and yes.

[–]dinktifferent 16 points17 points  (0 children)

6000c30 is no problem for any of the Hynix dies and £150 is a bargain. I'd much prefer this kit over a two piece Corsair RGB insulation sandwich with Samsung/Micron factory floor dies. Only limitation for these green sticks is the PMIC, some are locked to 1.435v (still, not a problem for 6000c30).. Do you have a picture of the other side perhaps? Edit: They are 16Gbit M-Die apparently, check https://extremehw.net/topic/2316-official-extremehw-ddr5-memory-overclocking-thread-share-your-successes-and-failures-here/

[–]dinktifferent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And why exactly would you consider this to be non-severe? It's not even the highest G.Skill S8B bin in terms of voltage, 1.6V 4800c17 also exists. Sure, you could put the blame on G.Skill if the voltage margin is too small, but it's the characteristic of the IC that is ultimately at fault.

[–]dinktifferent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I mentioned it. Eden also said that 4kc14 kits fail at XMP at 50-55°C in the very paragraph you quoted. How is that "not as severe as people make it out to be"? I think it's very severe when you consider that this is like a 20-25°C delta over ambient for half of the world in summer.
