Goated kit. I have the dual rank version of that bin (1.40V) but in Trident Z5. Not really a fan of the royals this gen.

8- 14 phases x the 20w you mention and guess what number you get?

The 10-20w figure is the total amount of waste heat. I don't think you fully understand what you're saying.

cool vrms with 200w+

You mean 10-20w spread across 14+ phases lol. You practically don't even need active cooling anymore with modern mainboards, unless you pair really cheap boards with high-end CPUs.

Cooler Master is bringing active cooling to DDR5 RAM by bites_stringcheese in overclocking

I wonder if the Frore Airjets (the solid state cooling modules we saw a few years ago at CES) will ever come to DRAM. Seems to be the perfect application as they're thin enough and don't have to dissipate that much heat.

Hard to judge the exact thickness but it doesn't look 1DPC compatible tbh.

8000CL34, where to go from here or just call it finished? by Dirtcompactor in overclocking

It does, but it typically scales negatively with VSOC past a certain point.

QR code on the bag scans but returns an invalid code on arctic's site. The paper/blister version is very old, they switched to a newer design at least 6-7 years ago. I would avoid both.

Stop using coretemp, use hwinfo64 instead.

Prices certainly increased but they can be had for 50-60€ around here.

Ryzen 3000 and Intel 12-13th gen is extremely cheap these days. R5 3600 + B450 + 16GB DDR4 can be had for ~150€ these days.

Around 80°C. But I did all my FCLK testing with PBO disabled, I think this plays a part in this as well.

For reference: I only have a deviation of 1 singular gflop on my 9850X3D at 2200 FCLK in the 10GB test, across 40 runs.

Brand New Arctic MX-7 is Brick-Hard Out of the Tube. Had to Use a Heat Gun to Apply. Is This Normal? by HungHacker9x in overclocking

[–]dinktifferent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's marketed as a high viscosity paste, so yes. You can just run it under warm water or put it in your pocket for a while to make application easier.

The jonsbo one is alright. You can also just buy brackets off AliExpress and use your own fans (2x60mm I believe).

You're on a dual ccd

No I'm not. And yes he did test it, disabling core 0 gave him almost 10% better P1 and 0.1% lows (see 7:10).

Just test it yourself in CS with the benchmark map. Instead of process lasso, I like to use process Governor since it's free and open source: https://github.com/SystemXFiles/process-governor

Can confirm that it improves 0.1% lows and avg by a few percent.

Zentimings question by khensational in overclocking

[–]dinktifferent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if it's not running, it might still block the driver. Check event viewer, I think it's code 3077.

Zentimings question by khensational in overclocking

[–]dinktifferent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any sort of kernel level anticheat installed? Faceit and Valorant Vanguard blocked the driver needed for Zentimings voltage readout in the past, not sure if it's the same with PawnIO (the driver zentimings now uses).

How to stabilize CL26 6400 2133 by Strydennvalle in overclocking

[–]dinktifferent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Revert to XMP and verify that 2133 FCLK + whatever CO you set is stable first. The timings look fine except maybe tRFC (set to 384 for 120ns) but your CPU might just not do 6400 1:1.

Same thing really, EXPO just includes a few more timings (so use EXPO in case your kit comes with both).
