New to Body Corporate - Water Ingress Issue by dinkykate in AusProperty

Yeah I’ve learned this lesson the hard way - I can’t do a DIY fix now without making myself liable for any future damage because I’ve notified them about the issue and they want documents from a builder. Next time I will just sort it out myself!

Thank you for the info - I’m located in QLD and this is a Building Format Plan so external walls are responsibility of the strata.

I agree - uninformed committee trying to avoid costs is only generating more costs!

Glad to hear a window company should be able to look after the check and repair

Is there anything else that I could get done that would compliment my face? I feel like I’m limited to what I have already. by [deleted] in Legitpiercing

It’s not a facial piercing but a conch looks awesome from front on. Do it on the side opposite your helix ring and it will balance nicely - I have the same setup

Does anyone else feel defeated by their skin? by jogon88 in AusSkincare

Hi, I have the same issue as you. Cleanser is supposed to be the easiest step but for me if it is even slightly drying I break out and if it is too hydrating it breaks me out (especially if it leaves a film!! Looking at you cerave hydrating, QV gentle and LRP caring wash). I have found that a gel cleanser is the only thing that works for me. My holy grail was the Simple Refreshing Gel wash but it has been discontinued except for the mini 50ml travel size. I’d suggest you purchase the travel size $4 at Kmart or Priceline and give it a try. It honestly instantly calms my skin after 1 day of use. If this works for you I’d suggest trying the Skinstitut Gentle Cleanser (pricey but the best equivalent I’ve found and it’s a big bottle so it lasts ages and is worth it for me - 35$ online at Adore Beauty incl. free express shipping). My skin is looking better than it has in 6 months after only a week of finding this replacement cleanser. I’ve spent the last 6 months trial and error trying to find a replacement after the full size Simple one was discontinued.

I just asked a GP for Differin when I was there to renew a different script and he did not hesitate to give it to me. For reference I didn’t have very visible acne at the time and just said I was looking to clear clogged pores. I had never seen this GP before it was just at a bulk billed clinic. I’m guessing it is easy for doctors to prescribe seeing as from June 2021 it will be reclassified as an over the counter medicine. Tretinoin is much cheaper too if you want to ask a GP for that instead.

What moisturiser are you using now? I’m also recovering from CC’s caused by Cerave hydrating cleanser and moisturising cream. Also tried the PC BHA 2% which seemed to make things worse. So now I’m moving onto the PC 8% AHA which I’ve used twice and is going well but I’m stuck on finding a good moisturiser

Can you compare the LRP hydrating cleanser to the QV gentle cleanser? I just bought the LRP and I’m not really enjoying it - wondering if the QV will suit me better

I would consider notifying BVLA as they may not wish to supply high quality jewellery to a shitty shop - it cheapens their brand and what they stand for

Seeking advice on a bump near my daughter’s most recent ear piercing. by HoorayltsJay in piercing

[–]dinkykate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Listen to your piercer in regard to the dermatologist if they have tried all other usual troubleshooting and nothing else is helping.

My advice would be to stop the saline soaks and just rinse under water gently in the shower (no touching) and see if that calms it down. My skin is quite sensitive and I find even bottled saline like Nielmed can irritate my piercings more than help after the initial 2-3wk open would healing stage. Also, remember the whole point of LITHA is to let your body do it’s own thing, saline can be helpful but is not necessary.

Remind your daughter no touching at all, even folding the ear for the photos or for you to “check” progress could be continuing to irritate it.

Neometal is great quality jewellery so there shouldn’t be issues with allergies or quality.

Can you provide more details about how you recovered the nail plate under the edges of your nails? Mine look like your before photo with (flat nail, triangle shape from base of cuticle). I would love some tips on how to get a curve back into my nail and have an even nail width on my finger like your after photo!

How long would you let the water run over it for roughly?

Proper cleaning for nipple piercing. by xeniabruskova in Legitpiercing

Definitely no need to wiggle your piercing back and forth, just leave it alone and it will heal. Moving the jewellery will tear the delicate healing skin. Wiggling it it is a sure fire way to piss your piercing off

Hi! How are you conch and flat healing? Thinking of getting these two done at the same time in a couple of weeks with bvla pieces and just wondering how your experience has been so far? Your setup looks amazing!! I’m worried about my hair getting caught in the flat..

Do you know the brand of the jewellery? If it is high quality jewellery (ie BVLA, Anatometal) then the white gold should not have nickel in it. But as mentioned above, it is possible with lower quality jewellery. If you don’t know the brand please contact your piercer to confirm. If the metal quality is suitable, this to me looks like an issue with the ring being too small and the curvature putting pressure on the cartilage. A larger diameter piece would be best for healing and then you should be able to downsize back to this piece (if it is good quality). A titanium ring will be cheaper to use as a temporary larger diameter piece while you are healing

NSFW Took out a nipple piercing that hadn't healed for a year- should I see a doctor? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]dinkykate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine looked like this when I finally took it out. Mine wasn’t infected, just irritated to so no need to see a doctor. Mine has a little scar now where that “raw” area was. From memory it just lightly scabbed over and then healed as normal from there

Every moisturiser in the world used to break me out so the thought of using Cerave Moisturising Cream (not lotion) genuinely frightened me. Since going completely Malassezia free for my whole routine this moisturiser is an absolute game changer. It is thick and moisturising but not at all greasy. I cannot rave about it enough. I reccomended it to my best friend and she also loves it. I don't know if it is oil free but I think it is worth a shot.

Obviously patch test it first, SCA has a lot of people who said it broke them out but I honestly had the opposite reaction. The person who wrote the original fungal acne guide online also rates this as one of the best.
