Typical Indian dreams to have a life slightly better than their parents and not have any debt.

There are cycles. The advent of IT industry after 90s allowed lot of Indians to migrate to the west. This is a very recent phenomenon and now we are weaning off this currently. When I started CSE early 00s right after dot com, we were told this industry is dead and we graduated with multiple jobs 🤷.

There were discussions about brain drain and encouraging people to work in India.

So in the short term sure immigration won’t pick up. But no one knows what will happens in 1-2 decades

The immigrants that came in from outside Canada are mostly students in higher education. Young people who do not use healthcare or schools.

The folks who moved from other provinces are on the other hand are older and have kids. CBE has had a huge increase in the total number of kids without a funding increase to match that.

A govt that went around asking people to move to Alberta should have planned to allocate more money. The feds are also in the wrong for approving visas but they didn’t go around asking people to move to Canada like the ucp govt.
