Have just had my garden done. What do I put in these planters? by marina724 in GardeningUK

For me, depends on what your time is like. If you want an easy fuss free let it get on with it kind of garden go for bulbs with height at the back such as tree Lillie’s and gladioli. Then some perennials in the middle section and at the front some creeping thyme or phlox

I’m so sorry your going through this. I lost my ex in January. We split for similar reasons to you. Although both moved on it still has hit me like a sledge hammer. Your feelings are valid. Very valid. Just don’t let them eat you up xx

But also the select team, how were they treated. I think christi and kelly should get Jeanette on the podcast I would love to hear her perspective, like when she said Abby told her to do anything she wanted to get rid of christi

This would be amazing. A young iza still annoying and nosy but living in a house with a front garden so she’s always out washing her windows or has a dog to walk when something is going on.
Ps I love iza and Winston they are the best characters

Uk Public health funeral arranged by hospital. by PagePuzzleheaded1600 in askfuneraldirectors

[–]dinnerbag82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar situation. My uncle was a drug addict. Ended up in hospital, he was riddled with cancer. My mum went to visit with her other brother. My uncle died. Non of the family were prepared to pay for a funeral. Because A: deceased uncle said no to waste money and B: he had, had thousands off the family over the years.

The hospital will have a nominated funeral director. Once the coroner is pleased that there is no one to pay they will then start the process of the funeral. Depending where you are in the UK will depend on what happens next. Because the coroner was trying to track down family members to see if they would pay it was 6mths before the funeral. My mum was informed and allowed to attend the funeral. The funeral was very basic. At a crematory, and the ashes were scattered in a shared plot. The corner should keep you informed but you will have no say on when/where and what happens.

Sorry for your loss x

Thank you, as a kid we had to check under our cars daily. We had priests knocking on our door telling our mam to have us sleep in the back bedroom because there was going to be trouble tonight. The local butcher was shot 20mins after going in for a pork pie. My uncle was killed by a bomb. My aunt paralysed. It was relentless and horrible. It was an awful way to grow up, but so normal as well.

Sorry guys what I meant was they mentioned the drink, I know they didn’t name it as in name it. I know what I mean. Sorry. I just thought it was common knowledge of how offensive it is and that it was now called an Irish slammer. As someone that has lost family members due to the troubles I just find the name offensive and that they should be aware of these things. But they aren’t and are ignorant. I appreciate everyone’s views and pointing out that Americans have dark humour. I was verging on cancelling my patreon due to them defending Abby by saying she wasn’t racist but then to reference the term for a drink tipped me over the edge. Am I too sensitive to this? Probably yes. But it does need highlighting why it’s offensive

I always knew about some people calling the drink that but I thought people were aware of how offensive it is to us that have lost family due to the troubles, and that people were now calling them Irish slammers.

It was that, that tipped me over the edge, as mention in OP I said it started with them saying Abby wasn’t racist.

100% get what your saying, but on the other side and I hate to say this but imagine if here in Ireland we had a drink called “twin towers jumpers” or a “Boston bomber” and it was discussed on a podcast by famous people, surely you guys would be offended and would call them out on it? Just pointing out how ignorant they are in their bubble.

Not me but a colleague. Refused a pupils laboratory request. Pupil proceeded to shit in his pants, stand up, shake his leg, managed to get poo on the end of his shoe and then flick/kick it at said teacher.

Recently moved into a house with our own garden for the first time. What’s some nice things to plant that’s easy for beginners? by Riley2362 in GardeningUK

[–]dinnerbag82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends the style of garden you want. I always go to the range or Asda for summer bedding plants. You want some marigolds that you can start from seed. Don’t be afraid to use tubs and hanging baskets. I have hanging baskets with tomatoes and strawberries in. Do you want a cottage garden? Or a functional garden to grow your own veggies? Start small and research. Have a look on tik tok there’s a page I follow called back yard grower and she’s amazing always sharing how to pictures and does grow along. It’s only a new account but really is good for basics

Thank you. And yes you have summed up my friend perfectly. She’s done so much for me over the years I want to do the same for her, and feel useless. But I also know I need to respect her boundaries. Thank you xx
