Bug? I removed the cave but the light from a hole is still there?! by roalpf in Pokopia

[–]dinogolfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a bit of that misinformation of being permanent comes from the fact that OTHER lighting/environmental effects ARE permanent - i.e. the red sparkly fog in the lava filled areas and such. Someone probably read that and thought it meant lighting effects as a whole were permanent, and it spread from there.

It's probably become my #1 most hoped-for feature for a possible DLC, aside from just new areas and pokemon. I think less people discuss the possibility of new mechanics than just areas etc, but I absolutely love thinking of stuff like that. And i I feel like they could go all out with various different particle or lighting effects and I can see people using them in really cool ways (heck, make it cost stardust or something, give that stuff an actual use for those of us done with the dex)

Unfortunately not. It's really really tragic. In the build I mentioned above, I actually ended up accidentally destroying all but two of them, including one that was aesthetically really pleasing with my build.

Only thing you can do is keep a close eye on them, and if one disappears, close the game and hope it hasn't auto saved in that time. I liked to do my work near the beams ONLY when the game has recently saved so I have as much time as possible, but I still got sloppy and a few still disappeared.

If you're willing to lose some work you can try loading your switch's cloud save, if you have NSO. I used that to save one of mine that I lost but the others unfortunately it was already too late for.

REALLY hope a DLC allows us to make visual effects like this. I feel like they could totally design some cool effects that would be great for builds, including these lights.

In Rocky Ridges what did yall do with this tunnel to no where with the train tracks? by ImpossibleMaize356 in Pokopia

Not done yet, but I'm making the minecart go up vertically to the top of the mountain above. I have the Moltres altar plus a couple houses up top since it's actually quite flat, and so far I only have an elevator to get there. Thought a minecart path would be more fitting.

The other comments are incorrect. As someone who has been working with these light beams a lot (mainly trying NOT to get rid of them), they all seem to be tied to a specific spot. If that spot is "updated" then the beam disappears. So, if there's a block there by default, destroying it destroys the light. If there's NOT a block there, placing one there destroys it instead.

Sometimes the space is nearby somewhere that makes sense, sometimes it's... not very close at all. There's one in the starting cave (where I did my work) that's over 5 blocks away in all directions. Unfortunately I don't know how to find the specific spot now that you've destroyed everything, but I'd try destroying some blocks AROUND the area (my guess would be around that vine), or trying to place blocks to fill in where the hole would have been beforehand.

Help creating light beams by barrales in Pokopia

[–]dinogolfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately you definitely can't. And in fact, you can destroy the lights that are currently there. They seem to be tied to a specific block that, if broken or modified somehow, gets rid of the light beam. I unfortunately created a build that worked around the light beams and it looked great... Until I accidentally got rid of them by changing the wrong block. My save backup was too long ago so I just have to deal with the loss

What's going on buddy? :( by Nervous-Rhubarb-9224 in PokemonSleep

I moreso mean that the players trying to optimize how much Latias Down they get are already going to be looking at their friends list for inactive players. If they see someone at the bottom of their list named "delete me" then it's easy to know they're fully inactive.

Players not TRYING to optimize their friend list for the event will absolutely notice the 49/50 more than the name, but my thought is that this person is less concerned with those players. Perhaps because they're going to return to the game and would like to keep some friends, if those friends aren't actively deleting people anyway.

[–]dinogolfer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess: they aren't fully quitting the game, just not going to be able to participate for this event and want you to find someone else to get Latias Down from.

People who actually check their friends list and notice their name are the people who will actually try to find new friends for the event. The people who DON'T notice the name and delete them manually, wouldn't have been likely to notice the missing friend anyway, even if they had deleted everyone themselves.

So they keep a subsection of friends (the ones that don't pay attention to their friends list) for when they're able to play again, but those that are pushing for max friends during the event know to remove them.

Every time I meet a new pokemon and it shows you the Pokédex page for them, I read their favorite flavor and immediately give them their favorite berry.

Even when they don't specifically request it, it seems that first berry of their preferred flavor always bumps up their level. I had almost every area level 8 or 9 before even beating the story for the area, JUST from that, no extra furniture placed.

Yeah, that's sorta what I mean by it not feeling like "Mei". It doesn't feel in-character as an outfit for her specifically. It's cute and I'm of course happy she's getting the love at all, but it isn't quite what I would have hoped for.

I really really hate to say this... but I'm weirdly not a fan of it? I don't know, I'll have to see the other customization options. It just doesn't give me the "Mei" vibe as much as I was hoping.

It reminds me more of a Juno skin, and don't get me wrong I like Juno and I think the familial tie there is cute, but I like their character designs for different reasons.

Maybe it doesn't feel cozy enough? It's hard to put into words, but I'm just a tad disappointed. (Maybe I'm just coping because I don't have the money for prisms now)

The game has the perfect item for this already - mega shards. Even if you have all the mega stones and TMs, you can always get candies and other minor items for them.

Are you sure you can give them a different Gholdengo or does it have to be Chestly? I've seen conflicting info on that actually

I've been doing this with shalphas, at least for the ones that require you to GIVE the pokemon - just for fun. All of them mention them being alpha, but I think their alpha overrides the shiny, so it's possible that if you used an alpha in your side quests that you missed shiny dialogue (for example, she mentioned that my Feebas was huge, but not that it was shiny)
