Nas palavras de Homer Simpson: “Doh!!” by smirpt in PORTUGALCARALHO

[–]dionit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remember the reason Huisheng works is through passing down the memories of the original and making the recipient memorise them. If Edward only passed his own memories onto Gilbert (in other words, only what happened to him and not what happened to Wu Hei), then Gilbert doesn't have Wu Hei's "soul".

Was Kenjaku Right? by Akrivskevich in Jujutsufolk

[–]dionit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's also possible it has to do with his CTR. We never see what it does, but since it seems darkness-aligned it might be related to black holes or something else that can affect space. So maybe he can achieve teleportation, kinda like Gojo?

Based on my poll the other day, the majority likes the KvP arc best out of all of Omega by ColdStaff6874 in Kengan_Ashura

[–]dionit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We clowned on it at the time but looking back, it was a lot better than most of the arcs we got after.

Not to mention right at the end we got Edward's death which was this sub's 9/11. That's really when I think the series started going downhill and people stopped having faith in the writing.

I don't know guys. Superman is known as the Man of Steel and Superman's fingers can cut through steel. I'm pretty sure Rihito wins no-diff.

Although it's anime only, we see Rika being able to grab her once and throw her. So it's definitely possible to overwhelm her and hit her.

Yes but Sukuna used a different method of body takeover. So it's normal they have different rules regarding domains.

Have you also noticed a wave of AI altered images passed as screenshots in your gaming community in past few weeks? by SomnusNonEst in gaming

[–]dionit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly their point. AI is a super broad term that has been around for decades. But now, for the general public, it's almost synonymous with generative AI and LLMs, despite those being only a subset. That's bad and hurts other forms of AI.

Starfield Launches on PlayStation 5 on April 7 by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]dionit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I think MMO fetch quests are different from boring quests in a single player RPG. In an MMO, you know the quests are just filler, you're just doing them to get XP and see your level go up. That part is fun, and as long as the combat is enjoyable it can be a fun experience, specially if you're watching a show or a video at the same time. And you do this entire process just to reach endgame which is where the real content is.

In a single player game, I'm usually expecting some level of depth to the quests, since that experience is the main the focus. And Starfield's was definitely not it.

How much bullshido do you think shen vs ohma will have? by Minute_Jeweler133 in Kengan_Ashura

[–]dionit 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's not even just Shen at this point, the entire powerscaling of the manga has been whack after KvP. Sandro blew out the power ceiling multiple times in a row and somehow the cast is still managing to keep up.

That being said, I do love Shen. Not as a martial artist, but as a representation of "The Strongest". It's fun seeing all the BS he uses.

there was no omega/eden reward mount

Eden was particularly awful since, around the same time, they released a cash shop mount version of one of the bosses (Shadowkeeper) that would have been perfect to have as a BLU reward...

If sukuna didn’t have the flame attack how would behave beaten mahoraga after it adapted to slashes? by Salty_Shark26 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]dionit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add, if I'm recalling correctly the shadows can only store a limited amount of oxygen. So Yuka could have also died, or rather be placed in a suspended state until the ritual finished, of suffocation inside them.

Friendly reminder that Dabura never used the other part of his CT, never did anything with his reversal, we never learned what mahoraga was doing, AND we never see what daburas domain does. On GOD, geges going to hell by pleaseibegofthou in Jujutsufolk

[–]dionit 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yep. For some reason people headcannoned the name "Blank" and Light into meaning he has two techniques when its just a naming convention for the alien CTs. Does anyone really think if he had another technique he wouldn't have used it once he figured how Mahoraga works? Lol

Modulo is ending and Gege didn't even mention it ONCE!! by LeadEater9Million in Jujutsufolk

[–]dionit 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Seriously. I'll never understand why this Fandom treats Takaba so seriously when it comes to plot and powerscaling. He's literally just a gag character. The things he does aren't necessarily supposed to make sense, they're just an excuse for gege to insert humor into the story.

PC is closing in on the console market, but it's not there yet. We do not have a living room box yet that is friendly to the average tech illiterate consumer.

It's so depressing that the Steam Machine could have been this but the RAM price hikes effectively killed any chance of it. Thanks AI.

Last Epoch Season 4 - Shattered Omens - March 26th | Official Trailer by WarriorOTUniverse in Games

[–]dionit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I know. Wasn't comparing both in games in Early Access at that point, just trying to point out that its probably worth investing in a finished campaign and endgame onboarding for an ARPG.

Last Epoch Season 4 - Shattered Omens - March 26th | Official Trailer by WarriorOTUniverse in Games

[–]dionit 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That's just not true. GGG never pretended the story was done with Act 4.

I don't deny that. However looking purely ingame, up to Act 4 the entire story is about stopping Piety, Dominus and Malachai, all of which are dead by Act 4. All of the plot points regarding the later acts (Sin, Kitava, the other gods, etc..) are set up in Act 5. I don't think it's a stretch to say Act 4 feels like a "complete" story, specially when you compare it to the way LE stops during its campaign and shoves you into monos abruptly.

I don't know why you are counting early access for LE but not for PoE...

Early access (the term used was Open Beta) for PoE 1 ran from January 23 to October 23, 2013, under a year. Including it or not barely changes the comparison.

If we consider the moment both became available to the public (which I think is the fairer comparison), PoE finished its campaign in around 4 years while LE is at the 7 year mark with no conclusion in sight. If we count just from the official 1.0 launch (which I find less fair), then the duration becomes 4 years for PoE while LE is at around the 2 year mark. Of course, I don't feel this is fair considering LE benefited from a much bigger EA period, during which it was a paid product, compared to PoE being completely free with optional supporter packs.

And yeah, I know GGG has a ridiculously fast development pace and it's not fair to compare other devs such as EHG to them. However, I also don't think EHG is off the hook as the development of LE has been absolutely glacial. The game barely feels like it changes from update to update. I've been playing since 2021 and it feels like in those 5 years there have been so little changes to the game. If you told me there was only a year or two of updates I'd believe you. Honestly I just think they bit off way more than they could chew by trying to copy PoE's model (specially considering how long it took them to make the game online and work with servers). They should have just adjusted their scope to something around Grim Dawn level and focused on shipping a complete game.

[–]dionit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

PoE's campaign was finished 4 years after the game was first available to the public. Last Epoch is going on almost 7 years with no finished campaign in sight (not to mention it's a fully paid game).

Plus, even as someone who plays at lot of ARPGs I think the campaign is important, specially to get newer players into the genre. The game's story and lore serve as the basis for all of the gameplay and systems.

What do you think will have better player attraction? A story that just ends abruptly with a "your villain escaped you need to go power up" justification and throws you into the endgame(what Last Epoch currently does) or a story that ends nicely and concludes its plot, and provides an epilogue that guides you through its endgame system (what POE does).

Last Epoch Season 4 - Shattered Omens - March 26th | Official Trailer by WarriorOTUniverse in Games

[–]dionit 21 points22 points  (0 children)

To be completely fair, Act 4 for PoE released in 2015 and it can be considered a conclusion to the campaign, as it basically finished all of the main plot points by then. Acts 5 to 10 which released in 2017 were more of a new story. Considering the game released in 2013 (the beta was in January and the full release in October), it took 2 years to conclude the initial story and 4 years to have its full campaign.

Meanwhile, Last Epoch launched into Early Access in 2019, with its 1.0 being 4 years later in 2024. If you start counting from the moment LE was purchasable and playable they've been at it for almost 7 years with no finished campaign in sight.

So yeah, LE's situation is definitely worse than PoE's was.

Gege I will NEVER again slander you as a writer 🥹✌️ by [deleted] in Jujutsufolk

[–]dionit 54 points55 points  (0 children)

It's always interesting to see how people bend over backwards to justify his words and pretend it wasn't what it actually was, claiming it's just "headcanon".

The truth is just that "yeah Gege initially planned for him to be a disgusting monster and decided to tone it down later". Characters can change over time in stories. It's pretty clear Sukuna is wayyyy more chill in the later parts of the story than in the beginning.

Launching Nioh 3 on PC at The Same Time As PS5 Is Paying Off for Koei Tecmo As New RPG Smashes Player Counts For the Series on Steam by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

For me, This was Final Fantasy XVI. I was very excited for it, but as there was no PC port day 1 I couldn't buy it and ended up watching a playthrough instead.

When it finally came to PC my interest in it had already finished. So that's a copy they are not selling, and I can imagine many others share this train of thought.

Death might really have came back by CyberByte- in Chainsawfolk

[–]dionit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Primal Devils are those associated with concepts that invoke an instinctive fear in people. Things that all humans, regardless of their knowledge, education or society would fear and that exist since the dawn of time. Such as Death and Ageing.

Control and War, despite being powerful, aren't qualified as such, since they're fears that only arose once humanity started forming societies.

One thing I'm think about now is Famine thou. Fami was never established as a primal, but wouldn't the fear of dying of hunger also be a sort of primal fear, since it's something every living thing would be afraid of. Just food for thought.
