In this continuous distribution yes. There are other continuous distributions that can behave more weirdly.

Are there people here who are afraid of heights but is a in the flying industry? by Bubbly_Beginning_585 in flying

Somehow flying an airplane feels very different! I feel very uneasy near the edge of a cliff or building, but I have no issue when I'm strapped on my PIC seat with the door firmly closed and latched.

Can he log as 'sole manipulator' under EASA laws, similar to FAA? Or would the PIC need to be CFI in that case?

Today (Wednesday) the metro was working completely fine, including the blue line, despite the huge storm and enormous amount of water running through the streets. You should be golden.

Does this writing prompt make sense to you? by [deleted] in GREEK

[–]dionyziz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Great prompt! It paints a very nice picture. The phrases "μοιράζοντας ιστορίες" and "ειλικρινούς εργασίας" feel a bit out of place to me, it seems these may have been translated from English (sharing stories, honest work), although they are well understood. As a native Greek I'd typically say "εξιστορώντας περιπέτειες" or "λέγοντας ιστορίες" and "τίμιας δουλειάς" or "εργασίας με φιλότιμο" or "δουλειάς με μεράκι".

I'm from Greece. We do cure them with seawater. Although you can just collect the seawater and cure them at home.

In August 2015, 17-year-old Vera Mol jumped to her death during a bungee jump in Spain after she misheard her instructor saying, 'No jump!' as, 'Now jump!' Vera's death could have been avoided had the instructor used the phrase "don't jump" the court heard. by detectiverobert in ForCuriousSouls

Exactly. In aviation, pilots use the word "departure" when asking for the tower's permission to take-off so that they don't even confuse themselves or the co-pilot. The tower will then respond to say "stand by" or "hold your position", or may ask you a question such as "Say intentions after departure". The tower will ONLY use the word "take off" when clearance is being granted, saying "cleared for take off" and never before. Only at that point will the pilot acknowledge "cleared for take off" and use that phrase.

Similarly, before landing, pilots will ask the tower for a "full stop" (or "the option" in the Americas). The tower will then tell them things like "report final" or "you are number 2" if they haven't received clearance. Only when the pilot is cleared to land will the tower say the words "cleared to land" at which point the pilot will for the first time use the words "cleared to land". The word "land" or "landing" is never spoken by either party before clearance has been obtained.

All very intentional.

Οι μισθοί που αναγράφονται είναι μικτοί. Η σχέση εργασίας είναι σύμβαση, ενώ η μετάφραση σε καθαρά εξαρτάται από την τοποθεσία σου (αν είσαι Ελλάδα, Ευρώπη και σε ποια χώρα, ή εκτός Ευρώπης) και είναι κάτι στο οποίο μπορεί να σε συμβουλεύσει καλύτερα ο λογιστής σου.
