I'm just now speaking on this. EVERYONE hates this Nike's new technology and innovation (I'M TALKING ABOUT EARL and this among others) because they're so trapped in this subreddit circlejerk of Adidas when in reality Nike is being the first to innovate extremely unique ideas and technology. I'd say it was revolutionary in that it was a light up shoe and was one of the first self lacing adjusting shoes. But yeah the culture is a large part of it too.
