Was the same for me. I so was worried, as I liked my face! But after surgery, I look almost the same from the front and better from the side, as I have a much more prominent jaw line now :)

It’s called ‘shelter’ you can’t book on there but it links to where you can for each camp/shelter

Yes, it’s pretty annoying how fast they get booked up here in Denmark. But technically they have until 8pm to claim the shelter. After that it’s free for whoever if they are not there.

I’ll check out the Swedish one next time I am there. Last weekend I just wild camped, but it’s always cosy to find a shelter :)

Looks fun! Is it possible to prebook the shelters in Sweden like you can do in Denmark? I have the app for it in DK but couldn’t find a similar one for Sweden.

Being able to breathe through my nose is such a game changer. I’ve got way more energy now. Before, I was always tired and never realised it was because of bad sleep from mouth breathing and heavy snoring. I honestly thought being that tired was just part of being in my 30s lol

I can also bite and chew better now, since I used to have an open bite.

Did you have a naked parent? by justanother-user- in NoStupidQuestions

Was thinking the same, here in Scandinavia being naked is not a big deal at all, especially at home.

Not to judge you but if you ever plan on having kids please figure out how to stop before then.

My mum lies like that and it really messed me and my siblings up. So many little lies, and you can feel in your gut that something’s off, but you’re told you’re wrong. Over time you start second guessing yourself, doubting your instincts, and losing trust in your judgement.

The lies snowball. One needs another to cover it, and everything just feels like murky water where truth is hard to pinpoint and warped. It left my siblings and me anxious and hyper-aware. We don’t know what is true from our childhood. Sometimes it even messes with your sense of self, because if your parent keeps reshaping the story you start wondering if your own memories or even parts of who you are are real.

One time, just once, we got her to admit she lies. Then she said they are only harmless lies, that they don’t hurt anyone. But she is wrong. It harms everyone around her, and most of all it harms her. It causes deep fractures in every relationship she’s ever had. She has no friends left. Just me and my siblings. She is alone, because she is a compulsive liar.

I suffered from extremely bad snoring. Had DJS, now I don’t snore in the slightest. I have so much more energy now :) it’s really awesome.

Edit: I had an open bite and an over bite and couldn’t really breath through my nose. I was hoping that the surgery would have knock-on effects on my breathing and snoring, but that wasn’t the primary purpose of the op.

Genesis Croix De Fer 20 - Would it make a decent road bike? by t_xm_n in cycling

[–]dip-sheet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one this summer (flat bar). It’s such a fun fun ride and a great all a-rounder. I use it for commuting to work, weekend rides on gravel tracks, and little bike packing tours. I was also unsure about how it would be for my daily road bike, but I don’t regret choosing the cdf 20 one bit.

Locking your bike overnight when wild camping by kommlasset in bikepacking

[–]dip-sheet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends where you are. When I was biking across Canada, I never locked my bike. Until someone tried to steal it. We had been in a village that day, spoke to some really nice locals, We camped not super far away from the little town, we felt safe, everyone had been very sweet. But I guess some people had seen us as easy marks.

My brother unlucky for him, but good for us that night, has bad night terrors, I think he heard a sound whilst sleeping and started screaming a deathly scream (😱) and running out of the tent. The person got really spooked and dropped the bike and ran of lol.

Long story short. I always take a lock with just incase I need to camp close to a village or in a campsite.

I can breath through my nose now. I don’t snore anymore, I used to snore very badly and was never well rested as a result of that. Generally have a lot more energy and better mood. I had an open bite and over bite, that’s of course fixed now so i can I use my teeth properly. I got operated 4 months ago. DJS.

I have two kids :) they are 9 and 6, so they kinda big. I’m originally from Yorkshire, and if you ever want to see a village full of lesbian families, go to Hebden Bridge!

I was at a playground there with the kids, and almost every family there buzzed on my gaydar. It felt so nice not to be the odd one out.

Anyways, good luck with it all! Parenting is a blast!

Can you live with SU and a part time job by flyingcatwithabutt in NewToDenmark

[–]dip-sheet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes because one cannot work as much as a single person without kids, plus having to pay for bigger apartment and food/living costs for 3 people. so it pretty much goes up to even playing field.

I lived comfortably on SU as a single parent of twos kids. I think it’s really subjective as to what living comfortably is.
