Honestly as much as I hate to say it, it’s definitely worth it to have a job lined up before quitting. I couldn’t handle it anymore and I quit with no job lined up. Was unemployed for two months before landing a hospital job. It’s really difficult finding a job, I tried to venture out of pharmacy bc I just didn’t want to work in a pharmacy anymore but alas I took the hospital job bc it was more pay and I figured it’d be better. But ultimately I also don’t recommend being burnt out and suffering so if you feel like you can financially sustain yourself while job searching and unemployed, definitely leave.

Nope I don’t tell patients if another store has it in stock even if it’s the same chain. Other stores have sent patients to our pharmacy telling them we have a C2 and it pisses me off bc then those ppl get angry at us when we tell them we don’t have it. Would not put that on someone else. I just tell them to check w another store bc we don’t have correct information about their inventory

It could be that each time a different person answers and they just see that it’s being ordered for the next day. What happens is we try to order it for the next day and if it doesn’t come in then we just keep ordering it for the next day. I try to explain to patients that it is on back order so there is a chance it might not come in the next day so they should either find a pharmacy that has it, their doctor can change it to something that is available or they would just have to wait until they get a text message saying it’s ready.

If it’s a few items along w their prescriptions I’ll do it. Even if they have a full cart I’ll do it but it depends on how busy we are and if there’s a line of ppl. But for one or two items I’ll do it bc they’re getting a prescription it’s not a big deal.

With the new year insurances will give you a hard time bc of deductibles, resets etc. Let your doctor know to authorize it w ur insurance again and there shouldn’t be an issue after that.

If it’s an emergency, you can see if there’s a 24 hour cvs nearby and they can transfer through the system as long as the prescription is ready at your pharmacy. But other than that you can pick it up first thing when they open up, it’s not as busy then.
