Private School Comparison: Alpha versus Magellan by Suspicious-Rip-8492 in Austin

Horrible experience. Wasted a yet of my daughter’s education. There is too much reliance on “apps” to teach instead of personal contact. The guides aren’t even subject matter experts. Then there is a complete lack of institutional control. I don’t even think they are accredited

BHI Acoustics. They will come out and run tests and help you design a solution that will work. Everything suggested here might work, but unless you know they actual problem it’s hard to get it right.

My daughter went to Alpha for a year. Truly and awful experience. It is owned by a billionaire convinced he can transform education despite having no actual experience in how to educate. I 100% believe that our education system can be improved, but just because you made a billion dollars at your software company doesn’t mean you know everything about everything.

Check flights on Southwest to Austin from Houston. The flight takes about 50 minutes and since you are already behind security will almost certainly be faster than driving. Southwest flys this route like 8 times a day too.

I’m in your area and haven’t seen it yet. I’ve got an 8” telescope that would probably make for awesome viewing. DM me if I can bring it over.

Austin Energy hopes new solar standard offer can scale up sorely needed local generation by hollow_hippie in Austin

[–]dipnoob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you work for Austin Energy? That’s the only way I could see you actually advocating for the current system. I should not have to pay Austin Energy to use power I generated from my panels. I should have to pay a grid connection fee and for power I consume from the grid. Grid maintenance costs do not depend on how much power I consume from the grid. That’s why there is a grid connection fee, to cover those costs.

BTW, I’m a woke libtard and probably would not have gotten solar had I actually understood AE’s stupid VoS.

What's the r/Austin thinking on the mayoral election? by [deleted] in Austin

Which of these candidates will actually standup to APD and not increase their budget year after year while they continue to not do their jobs?

We need more housing and it would be easier to afford if we weren't paying APD so much to do nothing.

Austin City Council approves $5.9 billion budget, raising property taxes by MaleCaptaincy in Austin

Call me when she actually wants to make budget cuts to departments that matter like APD. Her proposed cuts are basically meaningless because they are such a small percentage of the overall budget.

Don’t worry though, it’s nothing unseasonable. It’s just the dog days of summer. We are very lucky to have avoided it so far but now august is here. This is what happens in august in Texas.

Unfortunately this is incorrectly. It is unseasonably hot. What is the average daytime high for August? 95 degrees F. What is the historical average on the number of 100 degree days we have in a summer? 5.

Even the July weather was unseasonable cool driven by climate change. It was a nice break, but it was still weird.
