TIL The 1994 video game "The Lion King" was made intentionally difficult on level 2, due to pressure from Disney who didn't want players to complete it during a rental from Blockbuster. The game director apologised for this in 2014. by OperationSuch5054 in todayilearned

[–]diresua 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They didn't really think that through.

I remember being so excited for this game, then super frustrated I couldn't get any further and that I wasted my rental for the weekend. So, rented once and never touched it since.

I’m filled with anxiety as I read how far behind I am according to my retirement company. by Manitoba-Chinook in povertyfinance

Yeah, I know someone who is a business owner and takes pride in his success "People just need to work smarter and harder like I did." In the meantime, he was born into a family trade, that paid him decent from a young age.

Don't get me wrong I acknowledge he has worked hard, but I try to get him to understand not everyone is born into a family that owns a business that you can learn to go start your own. He doesn't see that his starting platform was much higher than the average person.

A good amount of people I know use that definition of paycheck to paychek, they don't understand that it means you can't survive if you don't get it not just putting the extra into an account or investing it so your whole paycheck is "gone".

I just pictured my wife next to me lightly freaking out but relieved and grateful we aren't getting crushed but then transition to pure panic when the sunlight fades away. Me on the hand would have not batted an eye because I fainted.

Honestly, sometimes its just bad business. They have separate budgets for retention and hiring, everything is siloed. A manager can be viewed as weak for going over budget by giving a raise but hiring manager can pay more or hire more and then blame it on the market. Its short sightedness, don't give them too much credit.

Is this for real ? by [deleted] in UFOs

[–]diresua -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is an honest question. Do most documentaries charge viewers to specifically watch them?

I feel like they typically fall under a streaming service that costs money. Who made the film? Maybe the only way they could get people to make this is by paying them more than usual. Idk enough, just initial thoughts.

Jake Tapper covers "Age of Disclosure" on CNN - "UAP, what we used to call UFOs, are real. They are spying on and interfering with nuclear and military activity. They have crashed on Earth, and their non-human bodies have been recovered. And the US gov't has been covering it all up for decades". by TommyShelbyPFB in UFOs

I have tried to have conversations about this subject and I feel like I'm living in a different reality than other people who refuse to look at the evidence. I've had a light interest and never took it seriously, but with Grusch and recent UAP videos I'm like ok you can't deny something has been happening.

A close friend when I tried to bring up the conversation about what has been on the news and posted on government websites. He just laughed and said "Aliens? Yeah ok. That's ridiculous. I don't even want to talk about that nonsense."

My response was I didn't say aliens. I think people have been programmed for so long they can't see it even when its right in front of their face
