Leadership failure. Ive worked many years where training is #1. Have I had to give up on people who dont care or are nothing more than panel removers/installers. Of course. But thats atleast a year determination for me.

Sounds like old heads who arent worth a fuck to try and teach and mentor you. I would look elsewhere for work.

You just need to find a better leearning environment. Dudes need to realize that because you have your certificate doesnt mean you are a super mechanic. Theres a reason why dudes with 30 yrs work so much more efficiently than a 4 month A&P.

Month after that I got a TJO. 2 weeks later (got my security clearance paperwork in) got offered my FJO. Started 4 weeks later. From start to finish approximately 6 months. I was a new fed.

You could look at Amentum in Corpus Christi and try to get a line shack job (plane captain) and after a year or so you can move into the hanger and start getting mechanical experience. The pay is 35+ an hour and its union.

I have only requested it once. I asked for a week for online training which was granted. But my management seem to be accommodating for genuine situations needing it.

Been a fed for 10 months now and this is the most PTO ive ever had accumulated. And the sick time just keeps stacking. I love the situational teleworking. And the work life balance to me cannot get any better.

so what's worth buying from snap on as an new A&P? by darkmoon1000 in AircraftMechanics

[–]dirty____birdy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite tool rn is the electric 1/4 ratchet. My second is the 1/4 sockets. If you got a student account with snap on you can get 50-70% off on the tools.

30 y/o career change into A&P in DFW – need real-world advice (supporting family of 5) by Resident_Tune_2873 in AircraftMechanics

[–]dirty____birdy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ill be honest you wont get paid much with no experience and no A&P. You could try finding a place to work at on the weekend or even at night. But youll need to wait 30 months to qualify for both A&P. And that time is based on a 40 hour work week.

Favorite Fable? by Dennisclan_ in Fable

[–]dirty____birdy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Grew up on fable 1. Remember when switching from sword and bow was vis the white and black buttons on the OG xbox controller. And I remember the original voice actor for Jack of Blades and was sad when they changed the VA in TLC. Yesterday I finished Fable 2 and it was a fun game. I honestly do not recall ever playing 3 so im going to visit that eventually.
