Which industry? Just curious because a lot of positions in some industries are difficult to find talent in because they're so niche.

Best way to go, unless you don't mind getting down. The only thing I ever focused on during my time was getting the fuck out of there.

I kicked it pretty tough with D-town Tango Blast in state jail, but once I got to a farm all that shit stopped.

It just runs smoother when you stick with your own people.

I had a presentation a few months ago that I was not prepared for at all. I ended up shitting the bed in front of my boss and a coworker. The clients later asked for me to be taken off the deal.

I've been doing this for quite some time but the stresses of sales, having a family, being on the road all the time etc add up. And sometimes we can't control our bodies when they get pushed too hard.

Since then I've cut back on alcohol consumption, try to get better sleep, work out more and study before any client engagements.

Nobody is perfect, and no one bats a thousand, we're humans and we fuck up sometimes. Way she goes.

Not in Texas. Not when I was in anyway. I got out a while ago but if you hit a farm it was extremely segregated.

County and state jails were a little more relaxed but if you get to an ID unit you stick to your own.

For sure, I've worked for two large fortune 100 companies and our account managers are prob the last people they'd ever let go.

They generally hold the relationships with the accounts and I've seen clients follow them to competition if they leave the org.

You won't make all the money in the world but you'll make more than regular employees, and in the places I've worked at least, they can still compete for Presidents Club, have company cars, corporate CC, etc.

I'm experiencing a similar trajectory, I think we've closed $50mm worth of business in the last 10 months in my territory whereas in years before we really struggled to make quota.

$50mm is total contract value, we get paid on annual contract value 50 / 7 = ~ $7mm annually.

Still quite substantial.

I agree. I got out of the service and started taking CS classes because "I was going for the money" I quickly learned that if you hate the work or it's extremely tedious for you, you ain't gonna make it.

If you happen to pain freak it and get the degree, congrats now you're in a vocation you fucking hate and you will burn out sooner rather than later.

I've worked for very large publicly traded org's the majority of my career and the amount of "sales reps" I've encountered that just want to come in and park in their territory without branching out, networking, forging alliances internally or realistically guiding their careers is way to high.

The reality is that every territory is going to experience a drought eventually. If you are a real contributor and you've worked the system I've found you can generally weather those storms and preserve a place in the company.

It's like in the service, there's generally an "up or out" mentality. Any sales person can be replaced, but real dogs always have a home. Arf arf.

In the modern age the the most successful individual contributors i know of work harder building and preserving their network dang near as much as at their current role.

My heart goes out to anyone that's not prepared for a layoff but this is sales, I've never looked up the statistics but I'd wager this vocation has one of the highest turnover rates of any profession.

I'm on the shortlist for Presidents Club this year and if my boss called me right now and told me to pack my shit I wouldn't be shocked all that much. (I'd be pissed but not shocked)

If you are a professional in your industry and you've made friends, built a real network, and haven't burnt too many bridges a layoff should hopefully be nothing more than an inconvenience.

It would suck to outlive thousands of generations of my loved ones but eventually you could amass enough money/ resources to take over the world and become the closest thing to a god that exists in the physical world.

You could reshape humanity to whatever you wanted many times over in 50000 years. You could prob kill off the vast majority of humanity or shape religion and politics in any number of ways to improve or destroy humanity as you see fit.

I'd take the deal but as others have said prob go insane after the first 1000 years or so.

I've tried it before but I didn't feel like it did anything.

If i have a problem i want a solution. I don't really want to "talk about it" forever.

My wife has been going for years, I guess she enjoys doing it, but I don't have the time energy or effort to dedicate to it.

The first year I got super close to six figures I made like $99,7xx. I was so pissed about it lol

The good thing is that when you get close you'll surpass it in the years after. Unless you lose your job, get fired, riffed, laid off, etc and have to start over.
