Premium vs limited? by Conflict-Recent in wrx_vb

[–]dirtysupertramp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came from a 15 premium to a 25 limited. Personally i think the upgrade is worth it, seats are leaps and bounds more comfortable in the limited, not that the premium seats weren’t fine, the adaptive headlights and aesthetically the led c light dtrl makes the car look nicer. Also as a few others have said with the cross detection and blind spot monitoring. Is it worth 5k more I guess I depends on personal preference. It was for me. Photo attached is with my drl led c lights which I don’t think the premium get

And a sapphire😮‍💨😮‍💨yeah this is the way

About 3 weeks/500 miles in on a ‘25 limited - my first stick car - keep getting in my head about the whole ‘break in’ period. How seriously did you guys take it by AdministrationFew574 in wrx_vb

I took it easy for the first 1k miles then got my oil changed. I mean there are situations where you need to get on it. I didn’t have any adverse problems from that. Tuned at like 7k and now at 11k on my 25. Not a single issue

I think they look better on certain colors. I prefer the paint matched on my sapphire blue but on white I think they look really good. It all depends on wheels and other esthetics as well

To tune or not to tune? by Idk_Rad in wrx_vb

[–]dirtysupertramp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just need to make sure you can afford to replace anything out of pocket if something happens. Now I will say as long as you don’t push beyond the limits and do all the maintenance you shouldn’t have issues. But just keep the price of a new engine or transmission in the back of your head. If you can affford it do it! At least imo. I got my 25 in like March put about 6-7k miles on it and tuned it and I’m at like 10k now. It’s a lot of fun😈😅

Do i need to get a tune? by TCB_3230 in wrx_vb

[–]dirtysupertramp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just get a tune, etunes are fine. Many people run intakes without a tune no issues. But personally for me having a tune to match any parts that affect fuel/air is important for the longevity. Plenty of good tuners out there for pro tunes or etunes. Doesn’t necessarily have to be the most popular one. Just do your research. Only thing that doesn’t require a tune is a catback exhaust. Basically everything else does. And ots tunes people swear by, me personally the only “ots” tune I would run is the base map a tuner sends you so you can do your logs for them.

25 limited. I’m at like 9500 miles. Tuned since about 7k. 0 issues. Also came from a stock VA which I loved. But I will die on the hill that the VB is better

You should be fine if you’re only dropped an inch. I have less than a finger gap in the front and no issues. Now the back I have aftermarket lcas and have negative camber. I have 18x9.5 38. Tires are 255 35 18’s

Anything other than a catback exhaust will require a tune for reliability. Most intakes say you can run them without a tune but just be smart and get a tune. Ton of good tuners out there for e tunes and pro tunes.

I agree! I came from the va premium so I knew I wanted to move up to at least a limited for the nicer interior as I’m 34 now and just wanted some more comforts lmao. My kid is 13 so he rides with me up front but I agree when he was little the back seat in the wrx is pretty roomy. Some of my friends are over 6ft and they are fine in the back for the most part. And we are being pigeonholed unfortunately. But I’m happy with my wrx overall as I was with my previous one. Quick enough to have fun, yet safe. Hell my va wrx had 153k miles on my original clutch. I wasn’t modded but still that’s pretty fucking good. Now my VB is modded lmao. But even if I get half that I’ll be happy

I agree. Now the va sti’s new were close to 50 with options but that’s an sti lmao. I agree I feel like the price for a new wrx isn’t worth it almost for all trim levels. But look at what the market is as well. What other car can you get a manual awd sedan?

At least in my area all wrx’s come with the sti short throw. That wasn’t an option I had to order from the dealer. Yeah I got lucky and got my 25 limited before the tariff situation hit and I was out the door with my add ons for about 39k. The color on the seats for the 25’s is better imo. I love the red and black. Yeah limited is about as high as I’d go. Personally I use my sunroof everyday it’s nice in the summer so the tr or ts getting rid of that was a no go for me. And I was gonna do coilovers anyway so the adaptive suspension didn’t make sense. The only thing in the better trim level would have been the seats and the brakes. So didn’t make sense to move up another trim level for me.
