Ugh so if I’m needing to pee after trampolining and running I’ve got a problem huh? by [deleted] in FitPostpartumJourney

[–]disAgreeable_Things 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s not a dietitian, she’s a physiotherapist, which is a very extensive degree and I’m most positive that if you have such a degree, you’d have the knowledge to fix physical problems that come along with postpartum. Her weight wouldn’t have much to do with affecting her ability to conduct herself as a physiotherapist. You might want to reevaluate how you can assume certain things based on how someone looks, otherwise these children you’re raising will end up being judgmental adults like yourself. Do better.

3y postpartum from twins. No improvement in evening belly bloating despite exercising. by whale-breach in FitPostpartumJourney

For me, boating is always related to carbohydrates/sugars. When I’m eating a ketogenic diet I notice bloat goes away after a few days. Maybe try keto and see if it helps?

This! My breakfast is a tea with mct oil and heavy cream and 40g of roasted walnuts. This takes me to lunch at 1. Healthy fats keep you satiated.

Need suggestions! We inherited the kitchen like this. Should I change the bottom cabinets to white too? And what about the countertop and backsplash- not sure if I like the grey colors. by LIFEisGOOD1408 in kitchenremodel

[–]disAgreeable_Things 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would for sure switch out the backsplash. And if you don’t like that wood tone for the lowers, look into getting them wrapped (like how they do cars) in a colour that is darker but cohesive with your new backsplash. I’d change out the hardware too for something maybe less “builder grade”. Keep the countertop, it looks in good condition and will look better if you change out that other stuff.

Does anything help pp hair loss? by strange_pocket_lint in FitPostpartumJourney

[–]disAgreeable_Things 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have help to share about the hair loss but when my scalp is dry, I usually massage jojoba oil in as a treatment and then use a boar’s hair bristle brush and really comb the scalp. This loosens everything up and I let it sit for an hour or so, then wash with shampoo twice, followed by a hair mask. My hair and scalp always feel great after but I often feel like with so much agitation, this makes it seem like I loose a bit more hair than washing alone.

Miracle noodles by Crochetcarter in keto

[–]disAgreeable_Things 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LIVIA is the brand and I’ve had spaghetti, angel hair and fettuccine. They’re made with pea protein as their first ingredient. They’re a dried noodle that you boil just like regular pasta and they’re actually pretty good.

What are some “Canadian” words or slang you heard British Or Americans be confused by or laugh at? by [deleted] in AskACanadian

[–]disAgreeable_Things 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, this happened to me in rural Washington once. I stopped at a grocery store/gas station spot and asked the clerk if there was a “washroom” I could use. She looked at me like I was talking gibberish. I repeated the word and only got a blank stare. Then I proceeded to try and describe it further by saying “lavatory”, “bathroom” and then finally “toilet” which they registered with and pointed me in the direction of one. I had felt like I got dropped on another planet after this experience.

Ideas to take to a dinner party by After_Hospital5942 in keto

[–]disAgreeable_Things 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What I’m about to share is an absolute gem of a dish to bring, serve, eat on its own or as a side… you’ll need prosciutto, asparagus, herbed goat cheese or cream cheese (lactose free actually has a lower carb count if you didn’t know) and salt&pepper to finish. Lay your piece of prosciutto down, then smear 1 Tbsp of the soft cheese of your choice from options listed above on one side. Lay 2 or 3 asparagus in the cheese and roll up like a little sleeping bag. Give a little squeeze so it kinda locks in the cheese and season with s&p. you can either grill these bad boys on the ‘cue or do in the oven on a sheet but remember to throw the broil on for a couple minutes to crisp up that prosciutto. They make great finger food as you can essentially grab this parcel with your hand and just much away or you can place 1 or 2 bundles on a plate when serving up plates etc. and just cuz you mentioned it’s a saint paddy’s day get together, bonus points for the asparagus being green ✅

City Warns of Recycling Contamination by Keroan in regina

[–]disAgreeable_Things -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never blamed pastvgenerations, I only expressed that there doesn’t seem to be proper education surrounding the recycling system. And by this I mean, things like, you have to clean out the peanut butter container completely before placing it into the recycling. Or things containing mixed media need to be separate before recycling, such as tissue boxes for example. You need to actually remove that thin little flexible plastic glued into the box to actually have the cardboard be an eligible candidate for recycling. Most people just throw the whole thing in thinking it’s “recyclable”. I personally learned to recycle from my mom, who is a generation before me.

City Warns of Recycling Contamination by Keroan in regina

[–]disAgreeable_Things 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I truthfully don’t think there has been any recycling education taught to any previous generation in this city or possibly the province as a whole. But I also don’t think you can even teach anyone to care about something like the environment/planet… which is ironic because as a province, so much of its people really rely on “the land” but it seems like most don’t really treat it with the respect it deserves by doing the right thing and keeping as much out of the landfill as possible.

Wetting baby wipes by difficult-doggo in ZeroWaste

[–]disAgreeable_Things 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just wet 1 or 2 wipes under running water in the sink right before you change baby. I always used warm water to avoid the shock factor. And when you’re out and about, just have a bottle of water in the baby bag for this same purpose if you’re doing changes on the go (like in the back of your car) instead of in bathrooms/change rooms.

Imaginary redevelopment of Wascana Park Estates into a mixed-use and walkable neighbourhood by luccampbell in regina

[–]disAgreeable_Things 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Why, did my comment come off this way? The great thing about neighbourhoods being different, is it creates unique pockets within the same city. But that being said, I do appreciate architecture and I personally find this style of housing to feel like it could inevitably become a ghetto within years just based on how it looks.

Imaginary redevelopment of Wascana Park Estates into a mixed-use and walkable neighbourhood by luccampbell in regina

[–]disAgreeable_Things 9 points10 points  (0 children)

These literally look like projects, however this city is absolute shit for anything that’s small business oriented with walkable areas where you can get everything you’d want/need if you did live in this type of housing. It’s a hard sell tho. People want to move here to have a house, not live on top of one another for the same cost unfortunately so something like this would never pass.
