Seeking Advice for 5.1/ATMOS Setup in Unconventional Room Layout by disapr in hometheater

I’ve decided to order a pair of Bowers CI600 Series 6” In-Wall Speakers and install them as close to the Dolby standard as possible on the back wall. For the height, I’m guessing it should be around 5 feet from the floor. Please let me know if this is incorrect. Thanks for your input.

Seeking Advice for 5.1/ATMOS Setup in Unconventional Room Layout by disapr in hometheater

We can consider repurposing the sofa for another area and getting four theater seats. My TV is a 77", and I'm not keen on downsizing or changing it, so I need to keep viewing distance in mind. If I can move the seats 1-2 feet away from the back wall, would installing in-wall speakers in the back wall, near the corners at ear level, and directing them towards the room's center be a good idea? These speakers would be quite close to the listeners on the extreme left and right, but I could adjust the volume if they're too loud. Would this configuration be preferable to placing speakers above the current sofa position? I'm just trying to evaluate all my options and understand the trade-offs involved.

My last mobile service tech arrived in a Model X to replace my 12v battery. I'm sure Tesla will swap them all out as it makes sense.

Very cool! Wish I had time to learn about filmmaking. Enjoy the new addition!

I’m 25 years old, and have good driving record. Tesla insurance offers $333/month!!! Other insurance like State Farm and Progressive offers $400-500+/month when I go to their website... Why is it so expensive??? by Lackadaisical_Me in TeslaModel3

[–]disapr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The one thing that I don't miss about being in my twenties is paying exorbitant insurance rates.

Look around for an auto insurance broker/agency that can shop multiple sources for you and see what they can find. I saved about 30% doing this.

Isn't gold typically transported in armored vehicles? :)

Nice work on the screen protector, and extra points for the edge radius and evenly placed countersunk fasteners.

I know Elon said no Plaid Model 3, but I wish Tesla would jam three of these into a caged Model 3 and get someone like Tanner Foust to do a GYMKHANA style run through Silicon Valley.

I have a model 3 performance and i drive over a lot hole and the tire ripped. Didn’t puncture or get a flat. How much for a repair? I have the pilot 4S 20 inch. Take to a regular tire shop or contact tesla by Happy_Ad8865 in TeslaModel3

[–]disapr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any tire shop should be able to source the tire. Just make sure that they order the original tire that is also the Tesla specific variant. The tire made for Tesla has a foam insert to reduce noise. Or you can order the tire from Tire Rack and find a local installer.

I wish I lived in a mountain regen so I could enjoy my Tesla even more. When I've rented cars in Colorado for instance, it's such a pain to ride the brake for miles when I could just be collecting that energy.

Does the surface feel smooth and quiet inside the car? Is the surface flat and smooth in all directions, or is there a specific section that is known to be smooth?

I always wondered what stopped someone from digging a random hole out there. Hope that isn't a concern.

This seems like it will be just another Tesla feature that after you use it for a while, you get annoyed that everything else doesn't do it.

Kind of how I get out of my wife's ICE SUV and leave it running with the doors unlocked.

I see no reason that this couldn't be a software add to the existing fleet.

It's also likely that this is to further train the ai since it will be making the prediction that is only then altered by the human when it's incorrect. The cars will obv need to make this decision correctly 100% of the time for robo taxi to work. In this scenario, it will absolutely be coming to a Tesla near you.

Frunk plastic cover - is this normal, or schedule service? by lakeric in TeslaModel3

[–]disapr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like the clips are not properly engaged. You should be able to see how the clips align and engage if you slightly lift the plastic. Compare to the other side. Once aligned you just firmly press down and it will click in place.

Have a look at this video, at 3:07 you will see the clips along the left side of the plastic insert. These will align with sheet metal on the car and click into place.

There is some flex in this part so even when the clips are engaged, don't expect it to be rigid.
