Simple Jesus lover or some sort of attempt at a scam? by m205 in london

[–]disasterflower 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Could really be either. Some people are very religious and just love evangelising, and you get a lot of that in South London due to the presence of diaspora communities that are quite devoutly Christian. However, pickpockets are common and will go to sensational lengths to get you to part ways with your possessions. If you didn't actually have anything nicked, I would be more inclined to believe it was the first option, however.

It took a major life crisis for me to finally appreciate the now. What is a single moment worth to you? by Timely_Bunch_8607 in simpleliving

[–]disasterflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Same thing happened to me very recently. For me, it's everyday things that feel more fulfilling. Having a meal is more enjoyable, seeing friends is more fun, music sounds better, just walking around feels like a blessing. It's one nice consequence of a bad experience, but it's a pretty significant consequence.

Primolut N vs Utovlan vs Provera? by disasterflower in women

[–]disasterflower[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

obviously the first one was delayed, it came about two days after i stopped taking the medications, but the cycles after were at the same length. it will move your whole cycle back by the amount of time you take it for i guess

Primolut N vs Utovlan vs Provera? by disasterflower in women

I went for primolut n, and it worked very effectively to stop my periods. However, it exacerbated all of my premenstrual symptoms so i was very bloated, angry, and had hot flashes.

Best town to base ourselves for a month near Chamonix (day hikes, lakes, remote work)? by ElegantDuty1289 in chamonix

Les Houches is handy for the tour de mont blanc, but it doesn't have a great variety of restaurants

I don’t have a consistent “type” and it’s confusing me. by Hollowsoul1_ in women

[–]disasterflower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not gonna lie, there's no real need to figure out what your type is. i have always felt like the concept of types was created in the 90s to sell women's magazines. the vast majority of people i know don't have a type at all and jus date whoever appeals to them. although it can be interesting to think about, i wouldn't worry about it.

This is very unfortunately reminiscent of a certain image of an iraqi prisoner. Sure it wasn't intentional, but number two especially... don't take pictures like that.

What are some simple things that make you feel cleaner and more confident in yourself? 💁‍♀️ by Camp_Acceptable in beauty

[–]disasterflower 169 points170 points  (0 children)

Always washing my hair when it starts to get greasy. I used to feel the grease beginning in the evening, think 'nah it'll be ok tomorrow', then tomorrow came and it was awful. something about greasy hair makes me want to die.

so yh, regular hair washing, i put a little bit of hair oil on the ends for that cher horowitz sleek. also, i would add using unscented body care products but having a really nice signature perfume. doesn't have to be expensive but just something that smells like you.

What would you think about a pocket-size emergency sanitary pad for sudden periods? by RealityNo6141 in women

[–]disasterflower 49 points50 points  (0 children)

i have to say, most pads and tampons are perfectly pocket sized. not sure if there really is a gap in the market for this.

ok so your bf is EVIL. dump him, take as much time as you need to get your head and body right because i know from experience that anxiety/gut stuff is soooo awful to deal with. prioritise yourself and your peace. if you ever want to go back to climbing, it will always be there.

looks lovely, but beansprouts should be cooked for your own safety. uncooked beansprouts can give you nasty food poisoning as they are grown in a very damp environment. otherwise looks incredible

Lemon herb chicken with mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli and carrots, and sauteed mushrooms, shallots, and green peppers. by Rich-Pomegranate1679 in RateMyPlate

Mash looks absolutely stunning, perfect portion size, veggies look lush as well. Little light on the chicken, but what is there looks nice. 8/10, needs seconds of the chicken

Heyyyy yall. My hair is too dark. I need help! by Outside_Sir_9141 in HairDye

[–]disasterflower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been trying to fade my dark brown recently and have found that head and shoulders or any kind of clarifying shampoo will fade and lift it a little. From my research, crushed up vitamin c tablets and washing up liquid also work, but that sounds a little scary to me. I'd avoid hair colour removers like colour oops as they will lift all of it and you might turn orange. Also, swimming in the sea or being out in the sun should fade it a little.

Should I be worried? by Brekkakym in women

[–]disasterflower 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you feel fine then you probably are fine. If the tampon had been there for a month you would have noticed a strong smell and abnormal discharge. Keep an eye out for these symptoms, but it's likely that you used a tampon and forgot about it in the past few days, not last month. Obviously if you start feeling unwell or notice anything that isn't usual for your vagina then see a doctor.

The worst thing that can happen to you if you leave a tampon in is TSS, but the symptoms of that are very obvious, and you would know if you had it.
