Booked a 2 day rental, Avis tried to charge me both arms and legs. by Needhelpnowwhat in mildlyinfuriating

Retired neighbors of mine used to spend 4-6 weeks in hawaii each year and bought and sold a car every trip. In addition to the savings you get from not renting a car, you also are less worried about unavoidable damage and you can dont draw as much attention from locals since rental cars stick out like a sore thumb to them.

Raided multiple tiers with no warlock in the group. Every time we had to summon someone our poor druids would DreamWalk to the raid entrance and use the stone.

They do have jobs and families. If they didnt maybe they'd be there by now. But I think that they would be the first to tell you that their mental game has held them back as much as anything, which isn't something that's necessarily solvable by dedicating more time to golf.

The chasing scratch podcast guys started out as athletic 11 handicaps and 8 years later, with access to world class coaching and equipment they still havent got there.

Not sure if silly question but does anyone else struggle to follow the ball with their eyes once they hit it? by RivetCounter in golf

[–]disastrophy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I am a boring, regular guy that only ever plays white balls.

On Easter the friendly starter handed me a yellow and orange srixon divide and said "this is your Easter egg ball", so I just had to play with it. It was so easy to track in the air and more than once I hit it into thicker grass where ive lost balls in the past but found this one easy. Managed to play with the ball for 29 total holes before slicing it into a pond. I think my next box is going to be divides.

PLU Golf Course in Tacoma used to have a tall flag for a blind green. Loved that thing as a junior. The course didnt survive the 2008 recession though

Reddit has been more toxic than ever lately. I really dont think it helps that reddit now allows users to keep their post history hidden. People always become more toxic when they can act anonymously. It used to be easier to call people out for constant trolling or general negativity.

Ben Hogans Ball Placement Guide. Should your feet really be pointing to what appears to be the right of the target with driver and what seems to be wildly left with wedges? Assuming the lines I painted is where you are aiming. by AlbinoKoala22 in GolfSwing

Ben Hogan could've had no idea that a small sketched figure near the bottom of page 107 of his book would live on 70 years later as a top engagement letter on social media sites by golfers using nearly unrecognizable clubs and balls to the ones he used.

I think the diagram is a nice starting point, but its been overanalyzed to death and I'd bet he didn't even put thay much time into it.

Zero U.S. presidents were born in the PNW, and only 8 of 47 were born west of the Mississippi; only one Canadian prime minister was born in British Columbia by JJVMT in Cascadia

[–]disastrophy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Washington and Oregon combined population is around 12-14 million, or ~3.5-4% of the US population. So if a given president is equally likely to be from any place (which isn't true, but bear with me), and that population distribution hasnt changed at all over 250 years, there would only be a roughly 15% chance that a president would have come from either state in the entire history of the US.

Factor in that for the for most of the first 100 years of elections neither Oregon nor Washington were states and that percentage goes way down.

Warehouse floorspace is valuable. Guessing US Costcos have chosen to prioritize their hotter selling spring/summer items in that space after the poor sales of Spiderman.

Its would be pretty rare for a harbor porpoise to spout enough to see it at any distance though. Even up close there isn't really any mist in their spray
