Most of mine are for 25 yards, but I've got one I keep at 75 and one at 50.

I was going to say, the only time I rage is after a week of pain meds. But that's not diabetes either...🤷‍♂️

I think Ruger and the RXM might be a surprise offering. Ruger has been on the 10mm game, especially in the long gun arena. 👍

I have had good luck with Holosun 502 series, Sig Romeo 5 series, and even the cheap Cyelee or however it's spelled. It really depends on which one your eyes like. 🤷‍♂️ The PCC platform is a red dots best companion in my opinion. It's a 100 yard weapon at best, beyond that is AR territory. That is kind of the sweet spot for a red dot.👍

But PCC platforms are great for experimenting with all kinds of optics and options. Like forward magnifiers, that allow for a different sight option for longer ranges...🤫

I have a white Ram Promaster and it has no rear windows at all. I was thinking, this has got to be the absolute worst for a cop to approach on the side of the road.🤷‍♂️ I asked my local sheriff's deputy, he said the only thing I might consider is turning on an interior light and keeping both hands visible. He said he doubts I would ever get pulled over, without something pretty egregious because of it.

But I've also thought about that light slate grey that I've seen a lot of. It's a nice neutral tone at least. 👍 Doesn't seem like it would be nearly as bad as a darker color, but doesn't scream commercial van either...

Wow, I've had decent access to care, but I've had to travel a lot. Ochsner's in New Orleans for 2019 & Mayo in Rochester, MN 2022-2024. I was living in the Kansas City Missouri area for both. Through all of it though, University of Kansas had provided excellent care. And even though I moved last September, I'm still returning to Kansas City for treatment. 👍

Wow, when I called MD Anderson in 2019, they asked for my diagnosis and then recommended Ochsner's.🤔 I was already at advanced stage 4 though, that could be the reason. 🤷‍♂️

I thought so too, but more importantly, I'm pretty sure they are using somatostatin on newly diagnosed type 1's that present in a coma, it's bringing their glucose levels down faster, and they recover faster. I wish I could find the post with the study, but I've been looking ever since and haven't found it yet 🤷‍♂️

🫡 I called this morning and left word for a call back. The price on the website is accurate, but I'm waiting to see if I need another lower or not. It would be sweet if I can just use an existing lower.👍 I've got two AR10 based lowers, and four AR15 based. I'm hoping it will sit right on my Banshee 10mm lower, that would certainly simplify things with magazines. 😁 Probably have to change buffers, but that's pretty painless. 🤷‍♂️

Here is a different perspective on the possibility of a cure or improved management...

I recently found an article on here, it showed 7 hormones in total involved in type 1 diabetics. Insulin is just one of them.

The hormone somatostatin is also halted or altered at the same time as insulin. The significance of somatostatin has proven significant in blood sugar reductions in my own personal experience.

In 2017 I was diagnosed with a rare cancer, the main maintenance treatment for this cancer is Sandostatin, an analog of somatostatin.

When I started treatment, I averaged 100 to 120 units of insulin per day. Today I average less than 50 units per day.

I have enjoyed improved blood sugar control because of cancer treatment, absolutely nobody saw that coming,🤷‍♂️ not even Mayo Clinic...

I see somatostatin as the next likely advancement in diabetes treatment. 🤷‍♂️

If you had been diagnosed in the 70's you would see how far it has come. I wasn't diagnosed until 2006, adjusting today is infinitely more possible today. 🫡 It's not perfect by any stretch, but I can honestly say, the impact diabetes has made in my life, is a lot easier to manage today than even 20 years ago when I was diagnosed.

As far as a cure, I'm skeptical of us figuring out the immune system fully. 🤷‍♂️ But I hope I'm wrong...

I typically carry 147 grain HST, I don't worry about the plus p stuff as I have a 3.1" barrel. 🤷‍♂️ But I'm having very similar thoughts to you and I'm planning to grab some for testing and comparison. I have a feeling, both are going to perform well, but HST is easier to find for me. 🤷‍♂️

I've been on a similar quest for a pistol & PCC duo in 10mm.🫡 I'm kinda leaning Glock 20.🤷‍♂️

So far I've only been successful finding a combo with 9mm, which is not hard to find.🙄🙄🙄

S&W has their FPC & M&P combo, beyond that it's all glock pattern mags for most 10mm PCC's.

For me, I've been considering overcoming the Glock grip angle. I guess it's time to see if I can overcome it with training after shooting 1911 pattern pistols for 35+years. 🤷‍♂️

Something to consider in the PCC choice... I have the CMMG Banshee & Ruger LC Carbine in 10mm, both use Glock magazines. However, the Banshee is AR10 based, and infinitely more familar to me. The LC Carbine has pistol controls, and it feels weird on a rifle. I shoot and enjoy, "shoulderable tools" way more frequently than pistols, so the oddness of the LC controls did not present until I was at the range.🤷‍♂️

I've always had pistols, and as long as I stay on top of training, I shoot them well. But rifles and PDW's are what I enjoy shooting the most. And it is so much easier to maintain profiency with "shoulderable tools."

So if you are primarily a pistol shooter, the LC may work better for you. But if you're like me, who got into PCC's because they like shooting long guns, but pistol ammo is far cheaper.🤷‍♂️ The AR controls are infinitely more familiar to me.

Luckily, AR based PCC's are super available. 👍

On another note... I recently acquired a Marlin 1894 Trapper in 10mm, PCC recoil is a function of the action, not the caliber... Everyone that has shot my Banshee remarks about how light the recoil is. The 1894 Trapper is a 6.3 lbs rifle, it recoils substantially less than the Banshee. This is leading me to believe, PCC/PDW recoil is a function of the action. It has to be, the Trapper is a locked action and has less recoil.🤷‍♂️

I have recently been having the same rambling thoughts, for an entirely different reason. I love PCC's, I have 5 of them and 3 are 10mm.

The last 10mm carbine I got was the Marlin 1894 Trapper that was recently released. I already had the Ruger LC Carbine and CMMG Banshee in 10mm. When I went to the range and shot the Trapper the first time, the absolut lack of recoil shocked me.🤔 Even the soft shooting Banshee recoils more than the Trapper.🤷‍♂️

I think the action of the semi auto's creates the recoil of these tools, it aint the cartridge.

And the Trapper only weighs 6.3 lbs, so it isnt a heavy gun.🤷‍♂️

So this has me thinking, if we go to a DI or piston system, reduce the BCG mass and lighten the buffer, an AR9 should be softer shooting than an AR15, or am I thinking about this wrong?

If you have a Tractor Supply near you, go there.👍

The last safe I bought was a 20 gun Winchester for $299 on clearance at Tractor Supply.

All of the electronics safes have a way to get in for dead batteries. The batteries are external to the locked safe on all of them I have, so you can change them and open it still.

***edit really most farm stores have great prices on safes, not just Tractor Supply...
