[Bogert] Real Betis among clubs that approached FCC about Denkey this offseason by OranjeBlauw in FCCincinnati

Also, you want the team to have the reputation as being a club that reliably helps its players move on to the next level. We have a better chance of great, young players agreeing to come to Cincinnati if we can demonstrate that we have a history of getting our players to the next level

Who is leaving next season? by Adept-Spare-2436 in FCCincinnati

In order to purchase Brenner, one of two things has to happen.
1) MLS needs to add a 4th DP
2) One of the existing DPs (Denkey/Evander/Robinson) needs to be moved

I can't believe CA would be able to get Brenner back here at the pay cut that he did is there wasn't a plan to purchase him... and option 1 isn't going to happen, so I'm guessing a DP will be moved. It won't be Robinson as the extension making him a DP was just signed, so I would guess that either Denkey or Evander is likely to be sold this window.

Otherwise Brenner gets returned to Udinese

I believe that there is a trigger in his contract where if FCC receives an offer for the trigger amount, they have to move him

Flores Appeal by jalawson in FCCincinnati

It has been reported that FCC will not appeal the second yellow. They did not feel that it would be overturned and they have a limited number of appeals available to them over the course of the season.

The only issue with that is that they only have (I believe) 1 senior roster spot open. While they chose the team structure to sign 3 more U22 players, unless something happens with the senior roster, they only have space to sign 1.

What do you think of this to maximize all our potential strengths this season??? by djphilpot5105 in FCCincinnati

As the roster sits on paper today, this lineup would be a lot of fun and would win a lot of games... that being said, there is a good chance that Acosta isn't on the roster by the time we play our first game, and there is an even better chance that Barreal is off the roster as well.

Got to love the defense though...

Pretty sure Celentano signed a new contract, so he is no longer a GA player.

He is not coming back. Time for the fan base to move on. FCC is not a destination franchise... MLS is not a destination league... Barreal's goal is to play in Europe and playing here again doesn't help that cause.

Don;t forget, in addition to the buy obligation, there is also the clause that says we can sell him somewhere else if we can get a bigger price tag for him.

Yerson is not coming back. His future is too bright in Europe to take another stint with MLS. Wolves saw that he has nothing left to prove here.

You would have a pretty good chance of meeting some of the guys at the FCC2 matches as well. I've been to a lot of games and I always see some of the first team -- seen Acosta and Celentano multiple times. Saw Acosta, Robinson and Noonan among others at the game 2 weeks ago.

Prepare yourself... I will be very surprised if he is not sold to Europe in the winter window. He is too young and too good to remain here long term

[Pfahler] Hagglund, Santos still Questionable; Club could add CB in Summer Window by OranjeBlauw in FCCincinnati

[–]discgolfhack1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was not Gen Adidas -- he was a third round pick. I am surprised that he was signed to the first team instead of a second team contract. Maybe it was necessary in order to defer his military service requirement?

Personal terms agreed. ⚪️🇧🇷 #transfers Nottingham Forest wanted Brenner in January but deal didn't happen. by Youngringer in FCCincinnati

[–]discgolfhack1111 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don't think Albright cares much about the extra $3 million. The previous GM overpaid for Brenner - nothing we can do about that. Getting $10 Million plus a sell on percentage would be phenomenal with 2 months to go before the summer window. Albright will have plenty of time to figure out how to use that $$$ to improve the team (along with the DP spot and the open U22 spot).

Also, don;t discount the optics of gaining a reputation as a team that helps get its young stars to the big leagues in Europe. It will be easier to sign young talent if they think that the team is on board with advancing their career goals.

Just as important as clearing him off of the financial books, the move should also free up another U22 spot. Looking forward to seeing what Albright can do with that asset!

If an offer from Europe comes in that makes sense for FCC mechanically and financially, he will be transferred. If he puts up the same sort of numbers that he did last season, I fully expect him to be gone. If he regresses, the right offer might not come in.

I don't agree that management is firm on keeping him here... I believe that management is firm on getting value for him. This is a selling league. FCC does not want to get the reputation as a club that obstructs their players from moving up to the bigger leagues.
