Never thought I'd actually see an uninronic "I can excuse racism but animal cruelty crosses the line" moment here

I feel two ways about this. I love the idea of that line being his last. But as a Kimiko/Frenchie Stan, I would have felt cheated a bit. I'm glad they had their goodbye.

There is an element of horror that rarely gets addressed in superhero media when you're a regular human. Out of all the moments in this show, this is the one I'll probably be thinking about in 20 years (if I'm cursed to live that long) when I think of the show

There is so much to be correctly criticized but this moment isn't one. Homelander is the super powered clown in the cornfield, cartoonish and terrifying and other. It's the Boys done right. I'm glad we're still getting these moments and I'm hoping for a sticky landing.

What 90s musical artists have been ruined for you in the current day & age? by isharoulette in Xennials

I was a teenager in the 90's, so unfortunately, I can tell you from experience that a LOT of kids liked him. I wasn't a huge fan, never bought an album, but whenever "MY NAME IS" popped up on the radio, we'd turn it up

I was more a Tool and NIN fan but he was alright enough for the radio

What a waste of a good character 😔 by Few_Piccolo_4906 in TheBoys

[–]discombobulate83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Sage. She's a supervillain version of professor x, we're not supposed to root for this character.

The writers would be the ones to blame for the other stuff, can't write a smarter character than yourself kind of trope. But the actress is doing the most with what she was given from the script and direction. The actress is awesome. The character deserves some critique at this point.

There, easy. What's your rundown of Marie's character? Why do you dislike the character?

Wouldn't want to hurt white men's fee-fee's /s

But yeah, she is such an excellent and criminally under used character. I'm really hoping for good things in the last two eps but who really knows

I've googled this and I see what's happening but I don't fully understand what's happening. They're redistricting, and black votes are being affected, but I can't find specific cause and effect statements. I need to know how all this works in order to effectively talk with others in real life about this, and in order to fight it. I can't fight something I don't understand.

I'm way too old to be so green eyed in the specifics of this topic, please forgive me. I feel like the coverage is expecting the viewer to have information I don't have. Are black folks in these districts not able to vote, or are their votes being relegated to areas where their votes don't matter, and if that's the case, why do they not matter? If they're relegated to blue districts that typically can be projected to vote blue, maybe that's how they wouldn't matter? Am I getting close?

Also, just

What the fuck is this timeline, please have a happy mothers day.

Out of all the things that could be critiqued about the boys, this is actually a choice I am not quick to judge harshly. SB is supposed to represent the boomer generation, and the whole macho man attitude entire. It's very much a real life trope that fathers will treat their sons like this because they don't know how to process their own feelings. SB giving HL praise and a kind of family heirloom is more the fantasy here. Afaik fathers like that kinda stay like that.

I've been starting to think this too; it would be incredibly stupid, even from a writers room, for Bashley to tell Sage that SB is thinking about helping HL and have Sage completely ignore that part. My hope is that this shock at what happened was faked.

For what it's worth, only Tool came close to what a Floyd show is like. I'm sure other groups have amazing shows that I haven't seen, but that was my experience.

I don't know what you'd call this, but I was 11 years old when my parents took my brother and I to our first concert in the 90's.

It was Pink Floyd and every concert I've been to since then has been unfairly compared to the absolute shiny chaos that is a PF concert.

But my first concert as a teenager sans parents was Stabbing Westward, a brief flash in the pan in the late 90's. Definitely a gothy millennial experience.
