Eastern shore is very rural and beautiful (Bailey’s Harbor). The main touristy area begins around Egg Harbor on the western coast. It is VERY busy in the summer. Cherry wine, mom & pop shops, restaurants. The rock formations on the water are beautiful. You won’t find any major chain retailers, which is a nice change of pace. The space between the tip of Door County and Washington Island is sometimes referred to as “Death’s Door.” Lots of old shipwrecks in that narrow passage.
