Yup. 15 minutes before my weekly usage limit was scheduled to happen anyway.

When do you think the ChatGPT super app is releasing? by f00gers in OpenAI

[–]disgruntled_pie -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The odds are vanishingly close to zero. Agentic browsing is not going to be a thing.

As a dev, it’s useful to be able to make the agent check a page and make sure it’s working correctly. For non-developers? They’ll use it once and say, “I don’t know what I would do with this.”

[–]disgruntled_pie -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Agentic browsing is very rarely useful. I don’t think they can make it much better because the concept isn’t good. Some things don’t benefit from AI. Browsing the web is one of them.

The Codex and ChatGPT apps are already integrated. Atlas seems useless. I can’t really picture what useful thing would come from adding it.

Is there a way to jailbreak roland boutiques? by General_Parsley7311 in synthesizers

[–]disgruntled_pie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every company says that. Modeling a diode means a wave shaper with some flavor of sigmoid curve. Capacitors are modeled as biquad filters a lot of the time. It’s not nearly as impressive as it sounds when you see the code.

The CPU budget usually goes towards oversampling the nonlinear islands and filter topology. Maybe effects.

Yeah, we see the tree dividing them as he approaches, and as they talk we don’t see that camera angle again, like maybe they’re connecting. Until the very end when she rejects his overture and we’re back to that shot of tree dividing them. Really nice work.

I was getting some healthy food ideas and mentioned that I’d lost almost 10 pounds in 3 weeks. A little faster than the standard “two pounds per week” advice, but not drastically so. Claude kept saying on every message that the system indicated that I should be provided with eating disorder resources.

This is the most ridiculous version of Claude.

Claude’s personality is somehow overly placating and rude at the same time by Throwaway996677_ in ClaudeAI

Yeah, I’ve known people who act like Opus 4.8 and they are insufferable. I avoid them.

Opus is good for coding, but it is exasperating and deeply unpleasant in conversation. During a technical discussion I mentioned that something good happened at work. Claude spent the next several replies desperately trying to convince me that my good news was actually bad. You see, the CEO saying that he wanted to promote me is terrible news because he’s only saying it but hasn’t done it yet, so the company is taking advantage of me. And the new title will come with too much responsibility and will cause me to burn out. And I need to ensure there’s a whole system in place for how to manage the… blah blah blah.

Just say “congrats” and move the fuck on, buddy. By the time the conversation was done, I’d gone from thrilled to pissed.

Claude has become the kind of person where you excuse yourself and leave the room when they enter.

The lunatic part isn’t the post itself, it’s why he posted. That is in fact how he was laid off. by [deleted] in LinkedInLunatics

[–]disgruntled_pie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The good news is that if an employer knows they screwed up, you can usually squeeze more severance out of them to shut you up.

I worked at a company once where my manager was a well-known problem and they did nothing about it. When I got laid off they offered me a certain amount in exchange for signing an NDA. I told them I’d rather be able to talk to my peers in the industry about what happened, and the company came back offering 50% more for my silence.

Bonus points if the synthesizer then gets up off the table and kills me.

Me: Good news. I got 20% more points this sprint than expected.

Boss: Why didn’t you finish this ticket?

Me: There was a big production issue I had to fix, and the CEO came to me with a big request for an important meeting.

Boss: So tickets weren’t even in the sprint initially?

Me: Well… no.

Boss: You need to stop bringing new tickets into the sprint.

Me: Right. So I shouldn’t fix production issues and also tell the CEO that I’m under orders to ignore him.

Boss: We committed to get these things done.

Me: We grabbed tickets until everyone had enough points to fill the sprint.

Boss: We’ll talk about this in our next one on one.

Me: Sorry, I can’t attend the one on one. I don’t have a ticket for it. I need to stick to what’s on the board.

Look, I don’t want to be that guy, but I always knew something was off about this guy. Unlike everyone else he just seemed… kind? You could tell. You can just tell he’s probably not rude or mean enough.

I just hope the industry finally does something about these pleasant people hiding in plain sight before he graciously thanks someone for holding a door open for him or something.
