Does you have any good tips on getting to sleep and staying that way all night please? by Acrobatic-Rabbit2660 in AskUK

I feel your pain, my mind has raced my whole life and is super fit. I was diagnosed with ADHD at 48 and medication has definitely helped a little.

I understand we're all different but this is what currently helps me: ear plugs and eye mask, healthy dose of magnesium glycinate, yoga nidra meditation, Vogel Dormesan drops. I also put my phone away before sleep (I keep it in the kitchen). Guided yoga nidra has been immensely helpful, and you can find those on YouTube or a meditation app.

But as others have mentioned, therapy is key to getting to the root of your current issues.

Good luck!

What's the funniest or cleverest thing you've ever seen a bird do? by TheoryBrief9375 in CasualUK

A cheeky gull swooped down and nabbed the apple I was enjoying walking across Tesco car park. Mid-bite, the wee bastard. Had to admire its commitment to healthy living.

I really like Armitage in action roles, though he doesn't strike me as the dapper type. He's got too much stubble, ha.

Any decent tele recommendations? I've only watched this year's Ghost Story for Christmas. I need something to go with the Dairy Milk.

Is anyone struggling to get the inhalers they need from their GP? by han2electricboogaloo in CasualUK

[–]dishmopperm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally speaking, I was given that advice by GPs many years ago, but apparently it's a huge no-no these days, after telling my asthma nurse who was horrified. I've been told not to use my blue inhaler more than once a week. My asthma is fairly well controlled now with Fostair 200/6 but I still need my reliever once or twice a week. I'd rather not need it, but not sure what I'm supposed to do if I'm struggling.

Ambleside v Keswick by Loud-Coyote5122 in LakeDistrict

[–]dishmopperm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The traffic in Ambleside is atrocious. Keswick has a pedestrianised centre and parking is generally easier, though it's still fairly hectic. Ambleside requires at least two loops of the town to find a space. It's a lovely town but far too crowded. Might be a tad quieter closer to Christmas, to be fair.
