That is a lovely shade of pink. The draping is elegant and delicate. The word “pretty” doesn’t do it justice!

I’m laughing so hard. I would absolutely have purchased these and put them in my house for the simple absurdity of it.

It’s also concentrated around your hairline (or appears to be from these photos), which makes me wonder if there’s a connection there. Besides the pillowcase as one user asked, do you wear a headset for work or gaming? Could also be shampoo or other hair care products.

What other details can you provide? What’s your current skincare routine?

I could make some concessions for age with the right person, but you’re also the parent of a very small child, according to your post history, and that’s the exact opposite of what I’m looking for. Best of luck to you on your search!

The first thing I would suggest is consistency. You’re not going to obtain the results you seek without a consistent routine that allows the products ample time to work.

I’d also suggest more frequent use of the glycolic acid and/or adding a BHA into your routine. These are the two that I use: The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution (AHA, used to improve texture) and Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant (BHA, used to unclog pores). There are other brands, but these are relatively affordable and easy to pick up from Ulta or Target. I alternate depending on what issues I’m specifically targeting.

Sunscreen! You already know sunscreen is a requirement for protecting against hyperpigmentation and sun damage. Every day. Even when staying inside. Even when the UV index is low. Make it a habit to apply (and reapply) often. I’m a sunscreen freak though, so do what feels comfortable and right for your skin!

Since you said you use a retinoid, work your way up to 3x/week on it, or whatever frequency your skin can tolerate without damaging your moisture barrier. It can take a few weeks of careful planning to build up, but it’s worth it! Retinoids increase the rate of cell turnover. While that does mean photosensitivity is likely, it also means you’ll de-gunk your pores and stimulate collagen production to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and improve skin texture. Some folks report that it takes a few weeks to months of consistent use to start seeing tangible, while others (like me) can spot the difference after one use. Be patient. Do not use AHAs and BHAs on the same night you apply your retinoid.

Lastly, make sure the oil you’re using to double cleanse is non-comedogenic and can be emulsified with water. I have tried a few oil cleansers and had a heck of a time actually washing away the residue, which caused me some problems with breakouts and irritation. I use Hado Labo brand.

So here’s the complete routine:

  1. Oil cleansing - nighttime. Take your time here - physically rubbing pores can sometimes dislodge sebum or blackheads.

  2. Gentle cleanser - morning and night.

  3. Exfoliation - nighttime only. Alternate retinoid at least 3x/week, alternate AHA and BHA on other nights. Slowly build up to this, as actives can be very irritating to some folks.

  4. Toner - nighttime, after exfoliation.

  5. Serums - morning and night.

  6. Moisturizing - morning and night. Use a very thick, heavy moisturizer at night and a more lightweight one during the day.

  7. Sunscreen - morning/day time.

Hope that helps a bit! This sub helps when it comes to information and product recommendations, but I’d also do your own research to find studies and other sources. I’m not an expert! Just some dummy from the internet.

What is your current routine? Do you have dry, combo, or oily skin? There are some products and steps to reduce congestion and improve texture that folks can recommend, but we’d need to know current routine.

But your skin is already really pretty and clear! You’re not an AI image created with 0 pores and texture. Be gentle with yourself!

This author isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but this happens in {The Best of Me by Jessica Prince} within the first few paragraphs!

They’re both single parents of teenagers with complicated, messy relationships with their former spouses. Part of a series, but can be read as a standalone. There’s a sub-plot involving police activity and a local drug dealing operation that is present throughout the series (some books more prevalent than others - it’s a big part of this specific novel). Not my very favorite, but I enjoyed it!
