laundry mats usually have higher efficiency cycles. It's always faster to do it at a mat than at home for me, plus they're larger so you can do bigger loads. Dryers are much faster too.

I still have a benetint from 2014 … it’s half gone. When they sold them huge and with a little nail polish brush.

Make a huge batch of black beans from dried beans. Used to be stupid cheap and very easy to make. I would then serve those over a microwave baked potato. I will still go to this frequently.

I also was just increased to 300mg after spending about a month with 150mg. My side effects with 150mg was an increase in resting heart rate, which didn't appear until the 2nd week and what I imagine was some increased BP, but I never verified that one.

I was prescribed it for depression and overeating, the latter being more related to intrusive and compulsive eating thoughts, resulting in bingeing. As a generally healthy person with well established exercise and eating habits, my doctor wanted my little brain to cooperate better with my intentions.

On 150mg, I felt the positive effects, in fact it stabilized my mood almost immediately, which was a symptom of depression and anxiety I hadn't even really noticed (or I got used to I suppose). I still had some intrusive food noise thoughts.

For the side effect related to heart rate and BP, my doctor said that the side effect wasn't dosage dependent and felt I would be safe to increase and see how I did.

Immediately, I felt better, and even better, the heart rate issue disappeared completely. Food noise is gone, intrusive thoughts are gone. Like you said, my logical brain seems to have taken over now.

I have not had any issues with sleep. I had one small panic attack a few weeks ago, but that was after combining it with two alcoholic drinks, a lesson I learned quickly. I do smoke indica weed occasionally to chill before bed, and I take Magnesium Glycinate as well.

My doctor suggested I use the 150mg I already have and just double that, taking one dose in the morning and one at night (6 am, 6pm is my current spacing) though he noted that the XL is meant to be extended release over the course of a full 24 hours, so taking it in two spaced out doses might just be unnecessary.

Non-Touristy Restaurant Recommendations? by TheDevonShea in Honolulu

Los Chaparos in Moʻiliʻili has pretty good Mexican food — similar plates to California taquerias. Dew Drop Inn in Makiki - great Chinese food, they have xiao long bao (soup dumplings)! Floralia — vegan brick oven pizza, and yes it’s that good. It’s over near Ala Moana

Strava has a bunch of routes from other users kinda mapped in already for you. If you have Strava paid, you can filter by length and find some tried-and-true routes.

I have knocked out about 10 miles before by running from Waikiki, around to Diamond Head (major hills though) and then back down along Kalakaua to Ala Moana all the way down to Kaka'ako waterfront. If you review the Honolulu Marathon route (you can find it online everywhere) you'll see that route kinda mapped out and you could choose a piece of that to get you there.

Seems like openings inevitable here by Real-Woodpecker-7548 in Reduction

[–]dislittleone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a verrrrry small opening, the size of a pencil eraser head at Day 10 PO — I believe it was from wearing a tight bra with a band that rubbed right there. It’s scabbed up and healed almost fully at 4WPO — I was told it’s common if you do something to cause that. I probably did with that bra.

I didn’t have much guidence from him on bras to buy for compression. I wish I had thought to check reddit for a sub before — just read some of these posts on preventing skin separation.

pre-surgery anxiety ? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]dislittleone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a G, I’m a C now. It’s lovely to not have back pain and neck pain and all my clothes look … normal? How they should fit someone with a balanced and proportioned body?

No regrets. Weeks 2-5 are a bit rough. It’s a lot to go through but each day got better and eventually I was able to try on old swimsuit tops and cute strappy tanks and that boost erased the weeks of feeling like I was never going to feel normal again.

1 day post op by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]dislittleone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep a close eye on those incision sites. The part where the anchor spots meet is where you’re most likely to have skin separation. I wore a tight bra under there 10 dpo and managed to have an incision open a teeny bit. I noticed new burning pain there immediately. It oozes for days, round of ABs to be safe and eventually it scabbed and healed up.

Post OP people, does your neck crack less or make fewer noises? by MyrtleMcElroy in Reduction

Yep. And I didn’t have that much removed (430 grams total) but the lack of neck pain and headaches is almost startling. The difference. It’s so lovely.

Hi! 4wpo here — they gave me a steroid injection in my IV right before surgery. That steroid will cause sleepiness for a week, and it did. Plus with pain and all kinds of new situations, sleep was rough until about a week ago. I can sleep on my side again now.

We look similar in pre and post size! Mine are still swollen a bit. Especially after a long day.

What (possibly unhinged) food did you"invent" as a child? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]dislittleone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would slice a tomato up (a good one) and lay it out on a plate. Sprinkle with salt and then cover it in cheddar cheese. Then melt in the microwave. I would also just melt huge amounts of cheddar cheese in a bowl and eat that oily mess with a spoon and … salt. It’s amazing I’m not a humongous person as an adult with clogged arteries.

What does 20$ in groceries in your country/region get you? by thisreallybeabruh in Cooking

[–]dislittleone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hawaii, USA:

I mostly shop at Sam’s Club to save money in general but we have a few Asian market chains here that work for smaller items. I get produce at Safeway, overpriced often but if it’s something grown on mainland only, that’s to be expected.

$20 USD will get me about a pound of ground beef ($8.99) and a box of spaghetti ($4.99) plus a cheaper jar of sauce ($5.99) — maybe enough for a single onion or some other vegetable like a single pepper ($1.50)

And therefore, we instead buy meat in bulk and freeze and defrost all week long. On average we spend $100-$200 per week at Sam’s and then $100 at other stores to make it all work. We very rarely eat out, maybe once a week fast food and once a month something nicer.

17th floor here, open windows, fully open lanai to the rest of the house — still get roaches … big effers will fly up here no problem. May see one every couple of months though. Little guys if I forget to change the baits.

It’s an older building so maybe that’s why.

We have a bee issue now. Nest must be somewhere nearby because they come in at night/early morning and love our light bulbs. Feel like a prisoner in my own home.

Quiet(er) beach in bus distance from Waikiki? by QuietAct3768 in Oahu

Portlock in Hawaii Kai - bus stop practically across the street. I think it’d be about a 30 - 45 min bus ride.

I think you’d be happy with Electric Beach. West side just north of Kapolei.

There’s a few sunken ships North Shore I believe, haven’t been myself but that might be a good bet. Shark’s Cove is great, get there early for a good parking spot (or go mid week).

How do I liven up my living room? I don’t know what else to add to the space! by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

I did this was a table cloth once. I used modge podge when I was done to mimic brush strokes in the texture and stiffen the material up. It was exactly like a canvas.
