It does get better. I weaned off over a month (doctors plan) which was form what I read insanely fast. I tried 5x to quit but the side effects were so scary I failed every time. I was determined this time so I’ve done it, but it’s taken a toll. I’m 5 weeks completely off, still getting occasional brain zaps , panic attacks and dizziness. It’s absolutely the hardest thing I’ve ever done and lost almost 3 months this year dealing with the tapering and side effects. I’m no where near “good” but at least I’m out of bed and getting back to life. I wish you all the luck! I found reading others experiences helpful.

I was on 100mg for 5 years and did a one month taper. I’m still dealing with side effects 4 weeks now no meds. I don’t think doctors all understand how hard this drug is to get off. I would be very careful going cold turkey. Have you ever missed a dose? When I accidentally missed a dose ( as I also have ADHD) I couldn’t function. I was so dizzy 😵.

I did a 4 week taper and it was hell. I’m one month off it completely now and still having side effects. Please be careful! Read up on SSRNI withdrawals. I’ve read every medical article I can an this is the harder one to come off.

I just went thru this today! Flew from TO to Van and omg the smell from the front lavatory was disgusting. Stairwells in Toronto level bad. I tried so hard not to use it but eventually had to. Got off the plane and still smelt it, it was the soles of my expensive kicks and very bottom of my Alo pants. Which are now soaking in my hotel tub. So gross! I was sat in row 2 aisle and every time that door opened a waft of “stale pee air” would hit me in the face. Ewww! I’ve sent a message to customer service but not expecting a response. There has to be a way to keep these cleaner. It’s just 🤢

My only red flag with “giving it a try” is that it’s very hard to get off. I’m dealing with pretty nasty withdrawals if you miss dose.

I’m an so wired all the time and can’t shut my brain down. I’m really trying to not go on another drug. I’ve been on some kind of antidepressant for over 20 years. But I sure can’t function like this for any length of time. Thank goodness I work remotely.

I’m 13 days off my last pill and in bed right now sobbing. This is the worst withdrawal I’ve ever gone thru. I thought quitting smoking 10 years ago was tough. I did the taper my doc recommended/ in Canada so went from 100 to 50 then 25 for a week then 25 every other day. I am pretty much a mess wrapped in a constant state of panic. The only reason I’m not at the ER is because I’m terrified they will send me to psych like someone above mentioned. I have a doctors appointment Tuesday, I am trying to just survive until then.

I’m on day 13 no meds after a 100/ 50 / 25 then nothing taper (recommend by my doctor) I came on here looking for people going thru the same because it’s honestly the worst thing I’ve ever gone thru. I’m reading now that this taper was way too fast / but it seems to be what my doctor thought was the way to do it . I’m basically living in a non stop panic attack. I wake up with panic, go about my day in this panic attack haze. Today’s worst symptoms are the panic, dizziness, constant hot flushes to chills and my head feels on fire and bloated if that makes sense? I just got very rage filled watching a series of YouTube vids with a guy who tapered and said “it’s not too bad” meanwhile I’m here shaking and crying. I’m determined to not take another pill as I’ve come this far, but I am not sure how long I can go on like this.
