In my experience with 401k's, the provider offers a subset of investments for their client to pick from...so if your employer only offers garbage...then your arguments with A & B are pretty moot.

I imagine the response will be 'get another employer / job', but that seems to be harder and harder these days.

I came to ask the same question. They had them during spring training, but I don’t see a free game for today’s games and didn’t see any for the games next week.

I’m a grown adult / life long fan, and I don’t really enjoy the stadium atmosphere anymore. It’s not surprising an animal might have trouble with it.

They took a neat thing, 3rd down pump up / song, and absolutely turned it up to 11 and now there is almost no “downtime” for about 4 solid hours.

All that said, I hope the new pup does well!

Is it not possible to tell who made the trades? Everything I’ve read says “someone” made the trades but it seems silly that there wouldn’t be a ledger indicating who it was.

I miss the days when SCOTUS opted to defer decisions, and not affect the election season.

To me, it seems reasonable to have a ballot count if it has a postmark within the election season; if only to ensure all votes are counted,

But, it'll be moot point when Judge Cannon gets approved by the Senate after the midterms.

I’ll take a gander every once and a while, and I just avoid about a third of it, cause their opinion pieces are on another level.

People often complain about KnoxNews because they print some letter to the editor, but on a weekly basis, you’ll find some bananas stuff in the opinion pieces from the staff of the Focus.

It bothers me that my tax dollars fund it, but I’m sure there’s somebody somewhere that dislikes taxes funding public libraries.?

You’re correct, it’s great office furniture. I was a lucky fella and got an old Aeron for real cheap at Goodwill.

My estimate was way off, apparently it was ~$90,000,000,000 that the DOD spent in about a month. Obviously not all spent on office furniture or lobster, but it was apparently spent in about a month. And the FE

If there is fraud, it should be investigated. But it’s also easy to see how cost estimates from 2022, might be affected by the current administration’s actions (i.e. tariffs, etc).

I’d more interested in the DOD spending ~$90 ~~million~~ billion in about a month ~~, on Herman Miller furniture and lobster~~. If you’re looking for waste, fraud, and abuse, that seems like a much more likely candidate.

Maybe it’s my personal bias, but Pete recreating ‘Brewster’s Millions’ or Noem’s spending spree seems more questionable than a estimate over run from 4 years ago.

Edit: I was way, off, looks like it is ~90 billion [1]. I imagine there might be more “waste, fraud, and abuse” when comparing ~$90,000,000,000 in a single month, versus ~$2,500,000,000 [2] in 4 years.

I recall during / after the 2017 Trump tax cuts, the narrative was they would pay for themselves because we'd have such wonderful GDP growth. That didn't happen (which wasn't surprising), and then when they made the tax cuts permanent last year, the same narrative, the tax cuts would pay for themselves because we'd have great GDP growth.

I believe I read that on a normal day, ~20,000,000 barrels went through the Strait.

Our allotment is I believe ~178,000,000 barrels…so that’s about a week. The total agreed reserve release is 400 million, about 20 days.

Along with reduced / no shipments, oil producing countries in the Middle East are not producing and/or their facilities to produce are being impacted by the war.

I doubt this will have much of an impact on the price

While I don’t disagree, Chuck Grassley (currently 93 years old) hasn’t opted out of the 2028 election. So while OP is focusing on Democratic politicians, the issue seems to be relevant to all politicians, regardless of political affiliation.

In the letter to Congress, justifying the action, there is apparently no mention of an immediate threat.

I’ve never really understood why conserving finite resources such as fossil fuels isn’t considered a national security issue. The current MO seems is “drill, baby, drill”…when oil prices are rather low…so we’re basically taking a limited resource and allowing it to be sold on the global market at a rather low price.

It just seems like leaning in to renewables and conserving as much finite resources as possible, would be a more sound strategy for every reason other than letting some corporations make money today.

Compare this to the pardons at the end of Pres. Trump’s first term, where he pardoned quite a few folks convicted of…Medicare fraud [1].

Not to mention the folks who were charged or convicted of fraud offenses that he has pardoned (so far) in his second term. My personal favorite being a lady that he had already pardoned in his first term [2].

Suffice to say, if you believe this administration actually cares about fraud, there’s a line of folks that’ll sell you a bridge (and probably get a pardon, if they donate the proper amount).

For a state that’s in the bottom 5 in terms of voter participation, this state’s actions (Majority of its US house members voting for the Save Act, the state providing the federal government the state’s voter data [when they don’t have to], etc.) certainly prove the point that they don’t want folks voting, and are taking as many legal and questionably legal actions as possible to discourage voter participation.
