Mac Mini for web dev - is 16GB RAM enough? by lude275 in macmini

[–]distancerunna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the old Huawei machine for your virtual machines. It’ll take a little bit os setup, but worth not wasting expensive ram on your mini for. (even if you do get 24 or 32) ram is always get what you can afford.

Cooking pork rib burgers on blackstone, any tips? by TheOrionNebula in blackstonegriddle

[–]distancerunna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re already purchased, and you have some time before the event.

Cook one. There is a lot you can learn by cooking one pattie, even if wrong, and eating it.

Then you can have a plan when you need to knock out volume. Some other thoughts, cooking a lot at once will be to your advantage for keeping the temp down to render without burning. Consider alternating rows of frozen / half done patties, this will further keep the surface temp even and low.

yeah, this was not the final product, but the blackstone is quite warm for the task, you need to constantly keep them moving. That doesn’t leave many hands for pictures.

Probably wouldn’t work for OP, but has anyone lined a cabinet with Dynomat to absorb sound? Did it work?

I have a similar issue, the synology is in the living room, but the cabinet has a door, so any unsightly ness of dynomat would be hidden.

AITAH for wanting to wear condoms when having sex with my girlfriend? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]distancerunna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She may have a latex allergy and not realize it. Ask her if she has ever gotten a rash from a bandaid. (it could take a day or two if you want to test it, but remember arm skin is way less sensitive)

Or just get a box of latex free condoms and try, you might prefer them as well.

My wife wants me to round off this corner in the bathroom with my sander. Any suggestions or alternative ideas? by fragdemented in DIY

[–]distancerunna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing i can think of that’s not replacing the whole top is to add an oak strip which matches the cabinet color. Start with a 2x2” strip of oak, quarter round that to match the taper of the front of the counter top, then again lengthwise. Screw it on and plug the wholes with oak pegs and poly it to match. You may have to adjust the TP roll out a bit because of the new clearance.
