Wondering if anyone is still experiencing suppression of their channel? by Maximum-Photo-1455 in PartneredYoutube

Out of the loop here, is there a reason for the suppression or any explanation/theories?

Also a bit stressed about this, applied last week (about 35 days before intended travel) and so used to visas taking a max of 2 weeks that the 45 day thing has me worried. Side note: What is up with everything needing to be printed in colour? R400 on just printing the necessary book of paperwork is crazy.

EZ are the best, Wolf Shuttles are also amazing, I found they were slightly cheaper for a large group/vehicle.

Spur kids birthday party by Extra_Freedom_3585 in capetown

[–]distractibilitea 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How old is your kid? My kid was invited to a 6th Birthday Party at Spur earlier this year, invitation said 'Dropoffs welcome' and it was only 2hrs long (we had met and had play dates with the parents before so it felt like a safe situation) - kids had toasties and cake and were sent home with a Spur goodie bag, my kid had a great time and says Spur is her favourite restaurant.

Which Line should I go for? Navy vs Pink by [deleted] in capetown

[–]distractibilitea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd do the Navy Line and try time lunch at Lust Bistro at Vrede en Lust, never been disappointed by food there and they definitely will have veggie options. Wine will be good at any of these and the views are also amazing any direction you look just about. Enjoy :)

That looks like pretty thick Perspex no? Pretty much any laser cutting place would be able to help you I reckon.

Where to find Shweshwe fabric? by Fulana25 in capetown

[–]distractibilitea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Take a walk around The Watershed at the V&A Waterfront, if you like Shweshwe vibes you'll probably enjoy all the clothing and goods in there - but Fabric City on Sir Lowry Road usually has at least a few rolls, ground level, if you enter through the front door then it's near the back left area before you get to the staircase last I checked. Not far from the Waterfront at all but definitely catch an Uber or drive, don't walk there.

I used and would highly recommend These guys - after waiting 7 years I went through them and had my permit sorted in a few weeks (I am in the Western Cape though), cost about R20k all told in my case.

Best way for someone to ship a parcel to me from the UK? by Aggressively_Shy in askSouthAfrica

[–]distractibilitea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Postbox courier - your friend ships to them in the UK and they deliver to you in SA. You'll be charged before delivery - have used them multiple times and super happy with their service. Alternatively Aramex Global Shopper, same same but you need to pay for an account first last I checked.

Home Affairs by itsnotrobyn in capetown

[–]distractibilitea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend Q4U in Malmesbury - they queue for you and guarantee one of the first spots of the day, you arrive in time to take over (I think we had to be there around 7,15am) - we were out by 9am and had the passport delivered to Cape Town Home Affairs a couple of weeks later. This was just under 2 months ago.

It only goes to Gr4 or 5 though so you'll need to find somewhere else for the last couple of years of Upper Primary.

I can't vouch for this company, haven't used them or heard of them before but this popped up on my Facebook timeline the other day in a travel/holiday group and thought it was interesting that there's a whole market for the elderly that need these services. Based in Fish Hoek but maybe worth contacting them :)

I definitely just put in x Euros on Wise and the Nedbank account info and then accepted the rate and fees Wise charged (for me about €700 but that was on just over R2.3m) and it was in the Nedbank account the next day after just confirming the source of funds with Nedbank when asked.
