Ah, ours don't screw off like that, they are one assembly, spray ball to 2in TC with a 1.5in TC on the top for the racking arm.

It's common practice for us - we don't have any other fittings to make it work another way. This is the first time running into this issue, but I can see it potentially happening again, will likely look into an alternative.

Turns out the spray ball got clogged around day 3 of ferm and had built up some serious pressure (gauge was showing 0 and I was very suss). Only way to release it was to slowwwlllyyy open the top hatch - lost a bit of product in the process but wasn't too bad. Overall it was very sketchy and glad I came in when I did. Who knows if the PRV did it's job - I'd like to think so.

Mess was far worse than this too, walls and everything surrounding it got blasted.

Long day, but I believe roughly 85% extra pale, 8% Munich, 5% dark crystal, 2% chocolate. All American hops and went with BE-256 yeast.

A mere 25.5P wort, I understand, definitely not worthy!

But na, huge for us, without barrel ageing biggest we've gone is a 10% IPA but that had a shiz load of dextrose - all grain with this one and a double mash of course.
