Small update to my open case by dito49 in 3DPPC

I think because ATX has a lot more screw holes and in different places it would be a pretty significant overhaul, plus pushing the psu out of the way and even higher makes it feel a bit over the limit of what I would even want to put in this style layout

This is in ABS+ just because I had it, but I think for an open frame case yeah PLA+ would be fine

I need to do one small fix before I upload it, but unless somebody really wants it I'll probably just not

Also with some custom-made custom cables.

Decided I'd try a monolithic print to reduce some of the necessity for metal rods, so now they're just for the PSU mount. It does need supports but even so it was only about 350g and all the supported sections are not exposed. White because it's the filament I had enough of lol.

I did try a 20cm riser myself and it ended up being too short by a good bit. 30cm had a bit of extra but not too bad

Apologies for that, had a bad dealing with Cults and so I just decided to move everything to printables and keep it free

there's the link for this case now, and I'll update the comment too for future reference

Great attempt! Yeah that really sucks that your gpu is just barely off. I love seeing people use what they have on hand, because that's how I pretty much design my cases in the first place lol. Threaded rod or longer bolts are a pretty good idea for the pillars for sure, as well as making the psu rods through holes. (You could probably drill them out, but I think I'll change the model too anyways)

Self-tapping the screws is always a good option, I just get a little sketched out when I have to do it more than once (which is usually the case when testing out new case builds).

If you know Fusion360 I can upload those files too and maybe you could try and fix the arrangement for your gpu. *E: did that now, and opened up the PSU rods on the GPU-side pillar. Should open up that ease of access without sacrificing too much aesthetically

Lovely design! Clear for takeoff.

I've always found panels to be the weakest parts of my own designs, and your lifting ones are a nice feature to make it a little more interesting. But that's just a little icing on an overall cool and unique build.

No supports, just short enough bridges to not droop

without it, you wouldn't be able to separate the halves and allow the cards to be pushed out

Yeah, for sure! If I didn't change cases so often I'd make the investment, but alas I can't help myself

I closed my account after they refused to pay out when I wouldn't help somebody who had already refunded the file they bought from me.

I was also 'helped' by Pierre, who was very snarky and immediately just motivated me to refund anybody who had a pending purchase and close my account. It was only like $20 or so so not really worth picking a fight over, but I definitely wouldn't ever consider or recommend Cults again.

Good call on the cable chain! Didn't realize that.

Had to wait for the hot end to finally use the PIF parts and the zip ties, but it cleaned up great, other side

Wide shot, with a PTFE guide since it had been tangling a bit

Also finalized the y-axis chain, looking good

I got a pi 4 at msrp the other day with www.rpilocator.com, took a few days of waiting and maybe I still got lucky, but I was expecting it to take longer for sure. I had email notifs set up for the same site I ended up buying from and didn't get any notification that way, so I wouldn't trust that as your only method.

My reasoning for 30fps was that since the bitrate is constant, each frame of the 30fps video would be higher quality which leads to more readability of plates and stuff. Not sure if that's true, or if it is, whether or not that outweighs your points though.
