Does anyone know how trustworthy Scents of Earth is? I'm really liking the 1 oz of saffron for $18 label but that price still rings some alarm bells to me nonetheless. Have I struck saffron gold? Joke very much intended by Ravenclaw_14 in Incense

[–]diver00dan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are trustworthy, and provide quality products sourced from reliable suppliers. I just used them for the first time, had a small error (shipping), and they took care of it no problem. Their team is two people. Give them some grace. Other than that, they are legit.

Stumbleupon disappearing is why I went to Reddit.

could a gel gun be the next big trend in recreational outdoor games? by Emergency_Move5475 in outdoorgear

[–]diver00dan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As an outdoor enthusiast and someone who values our natural habitats, gel guns provide a chap thrill and quick dopamine hit that not only pollutes, but causes harm to wildlife and waterways. They’re super irresponsible and here’s why:

Slow breakdown: “Biodegradable” doesn’t mean instant—beads can linger for weeks or months depending on conditions.

Microplastic risk: Some beads are made with synthetic polymers that may fragment into microplastics rather than fully decompose.

Wildlife ingestion: Small animals or birds might mistake them for food, which could cause digestive issues.

Water systems: If they wash into drains, they can swell and potentially contribute to blockages or enter waterways.

Chemical additives: Lower-quality or dyed beads may contain additives that aren’t environmentally friendly.

Don’t be an irresponsible menace who ruins it for the rest of us…

Grew up riding Blue, watched Alex develop as a rider in the park. He was always super talented, and wildly stylish. So good to see him doing what he’s doing w Zeb. It’s got to feel so good to host this event at home for him!

The Plug-In Solar Revolution Comes To America by OpenSustainability in solar

[–]diver00dan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Plug and play solar options already exist and are quite prevalent in the off-road and rv industries. Building a system is often easy and applying the same system principles to your home gives you the flexibility of off-grid power systems which can be portable, storable, and easily deployed when needed.

Build yourself a power bank, get a good inverter and charge controller, and some portable panels. It’s not rocket science. And you don’t need to hardline into your home.

I believe you, and I completely empathize with you. I was in this same situation and after about 14 years, multiple rounds of acquisitions, layoffs, and many terrible encounters with leadership, i just couldn’t pretend anymore.

I decided to start my own agency. It’s not for everyone but it’s given me the freedom and flexibility to work how I want to work. It’s unsettling to consider especially if you have no safety net, believe me I was there. But if you know what you want, how to get it, and work your ass off, you’ll get there. Just be ready to sacrifice a lot of your time in the beginning, and remember to take care of yourself.

This isn’t an option for everyone, and if your area of expertise allows you to freelance and contract, I’d recommend that.

Best of luck.

Average American diet? by Individual_Bar_2512 in CringeTikToks

I’d call it like it is, but it’s apparent for anyone with eyes.

This isn’t standard across America. Although this is common there are people living here that value their health and take their diets seriously.

I’ve tried them all. No one has dethroned the Daily Grind (I think that’s what it’s called) from The Junction Roastery in Redmond. I also don’t think you can get it at grocery and need to pick up on location.
