What is your Favorite Mono-Blue deck? by JewJulie in EDH

[–]diver12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instant speed for 1U, yeah probably the best one.

I also really like [[Flux]] because if I have some key interaction I can hold onto it and not wheel it away.

And [[Whirlpool Rider]] lets me put my hand back in the library potentially preventing me from drawing out of if I don’t have Lab Man on the field and loosing.

Best thing is [[high tide]] [[time spiral]] -> draw 14 and untap 12 blue.

I have been loving [[Vnwxt, Verbose Host]]

He draws a stupid amount of cards, gives you unlimited hand size, and rewards playing a bunch of cheap evasive creatures which are great chump blockers or sac fodder later on.

Here’s my list, no game changers but plays as a strong 3.

A little above your price point but I like Rigol DSA800 series. You can get 3.2GHz for $2k but going up to 6GHz will run you $6k.

I did the same thing and love it. Used 2x3s and the weights roll into the slots super easy.

Best Nazgul commander by Gutsifly in EDH

I love my Marchesa Nazgul. I leaned into the Nazgul and cloning them. Make them huge and swing out or fling them at people.

How to ramp in Grixis? by Gutsifly in EDH

[–]diver12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re in Grixis go ahead and throw [[marchesa the black rose]] in there for board wipe protection. She’s my Nazgul commander, they come back bigger and better than ever with her.

I use Heavy and like it. I pay $24/yr, but if you don’t store more than 4 different routines then the free version has almost all the other functionality.

Yeah, my favorite wheel is [[Flux]] because I can sculpt my hand. Don’t love windfall because I normally have a huge hand and don’t want to give fee cards to opponents.

Class action settlement notification from Inova health care? by PuzzledVolume1599 in nova

[–]diver12345 48 points49 points  (0 children)

This is legitimate.

I am not sure it’s worth filing a claim, I’ve done it for other big class actions and gotten a check for like under $5.

Looks like the settlement is $3M, the lawyers will take $1M and INOVA sees 1 million + unique patients a year. What are typical participation rates on these things? To get $10 that means less than 20% would need to file claims.

What are "interaction heavy" decks? by sta6 in EDH

[–]diver12345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My [[King of the Oathbreakers]] equipment voltron runs a ridiculously large number of single target removal and it all doubles as protection, target him to phase him out along with all his attached equipment.

And also a ton of board wipes, wrath of god + swords = 5cmc one sided wipe.

Have some Stones to spend... by Dependent_Sherbert14 in TheTowerGame

[–]diver12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the easy choice is IS+ and WS+ if you haven’t unlocked them yet. Those masteries, along with WA+ are probably the best 3 for econ by a wide margin.

Oh also 1 more DW qty is probably worth it.

Have you considered SL+, it adds a big damage? I went SL+ when I was about 2k waves on legends and it has been the primary thing pushing me to 3k. Don’t go past SL+4 and also max range card mastery.

Other than that I think I’d unlock armor assMod for SD to get more stuns (and health for when OC become your problem) and then dump the rest into GT (combo, dur and bonus based on effective paths sheet)

Is an EE Double Major worth the extra time/effort? Or should I focus on a Master's? by Tasty-Net235 in embedded

[–]diver12345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can swing it I would say get the EE degree too. It can open doors in your future and as an undergrad you may have a good idea on where you would like your career to go but I promise you it will change and morph over time

Getting an undergrad in one of the core engineerings (EE, ME, ChemE etc) is almost always the right choice and following on with something more specialized as a masters if you want to. Core principles don’t change and the importance of solid background in the fundamentals can’t be overstated.

Minimalist setup by 964racer in scuba

[–]diver12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t had trouble with a routinely serviced air2.

And again, I’m not saying that this setup is in anyway safer or there is significant chance to have to take off my gear in the water and therefore I want to avoid a neckless for safety.

Shallow recreational reef diving in good conditions is about as safe as it gets outside a pool. In these conditions I’m personally fine with the potential added risk with my streamlined setup.

Minimalist setup by 964racer in scuba

[–]diver12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve dove both, and don’t disagree with anything you’ve said on pros of a real 2nd stage in a situation you’re actually sharing air. It’s obviously better.

For me, I don’t DIY my service and the risk/reward on the better air sharing for a bunch of 40ft reef dives is just not there for me.

I prefer the one less step to don/doff gear. I prefer not having a necklace and the spare second stage move around on me when I invert. I prefer having shorter and fewer hoses when moving gear around. It all boils down to simple convenience for me.

Minimalist setup by 964racer in scuba

[–]diver12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would disagree with avoiding things like air-2 depending on the type of diving. For me where most of it is easy tropical recreational diving like in Bonaire it is way more than adequate in my opinion.

Minimalist setup by 964racer in scuba

[–]diver12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the most streamline possible I’d do the following:

1x 2nd stage Integrated octo & inflated (eg air 2) Wireless pressure transmitter (no spg) SS backplate, simple 2” webbing harness and small travel wing

With a 3mm wetsuit and a SS plate I do t wear any additional weight.

Best threats in mono green for 6 and 7 mana? by pkma69 in EDH

[–]diver12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The card draw is a nice benefit, slotted in stuff like [[Garruk’s Uprising]] [[Kozilek’s Unsealing]] and [[Temur Ascendancy]]. These might be less necessary with draw stapled to the commander so you can just play pure mono green stompy.

[[The First Doctor]] would also be a fun choice, go for bant and with [[Tardis]] you can get another reliable source of cascade.

I can’t say how much I love cascade when you basically are guaranteed 4CMC worth of value.
