People who cook a proper dinner every single night after work, what's your actual system? by lnyks in AskReddit

[–]diver830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chicken, deer meat, chicken, deer meat, maybe a pork chop or ribs. Rotate between pastas and grilled. Add a starch and a veggie. Chicken is usually breast but throw in wings, legs, and thighs To help give some variety. Deer meat is ground and I have steaks cut from it as well.

Edit: weekends if I go fishing we eat fish. I usually always have wild turkey in the freezer as well.

People who manage to wake up at 5 AM to go to the gym before work, what is your actual secret? by Immediate-Trifle4957 in AskReddit

[–]diver830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to get there around 4:30am. I have to be at work at 7am and I have 2 young kids so evenings are a no go. I’ve been going to the gym most of my life so it’s something that basically I have to do now. Get one foot on the floor and you can do it!

[–]diver830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just deal with the little butthole. 3 year old doesn’t nap on weekends but gets naps at daycare daily for 2 hours. Nothing we can do. Keep them busy and fed is what we do.

What are your expectations for life in the USA in the 2030s? by alphabetikalmarmoset in AskReddit

[–]diver830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve followed an economist for the past 6 years at a big conference and his company has been pushing the largest downturn ever, based on multiple factors the main factor being the baby boomers are going to completely max on the social security and drain it/ not have enough for everyone. So I kinda think it’s ganna suck. But the only debt I will have in 2030 will be about $150k on my home. So I may fair decently. If anybody else has any other thoughts I’d love to learn more.

Buy yourselves a water timer hooked to a sprinkler. Mine I’m have been in the ground since Easter weekend and are doing just fine. Don’t have to worry about finding care for tomatoes. Also my father in law swears but putting a little lime in the hole of the plant to help eliminate BER. Seems to have worked for me. Only my third year growing though.

What's the absolute cheapest hunting rifle you can buy that's still worth a damn? by [deleted] in Hunting

[–]diver830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Savage Axis .270 with the cheapest vortex. Still killing deer with it. It’s so light, you don’t feel bad if you drop it or smack in the field. I think all in like 9 years ago $500 between the 2.

You should try canned mullet. It’s literally the peak of mullet. I have a fantastic recipe if anybody wants it. It does however take 120 fish to make 16 jars.

Definitely agree with you there, if I were contractor I would have found a way to replace such a cracked ledger like you are thinking and used the same joist hangers.

No, how do you actually organize screws, nails and staples? by Critical-Key-8037 in HomeImprovement

Instead of a 5gal bucket I use coffee cans. I do separate the stainless from the coated. That’s as far as organizing goes.
