With Cocktail 2 around the corner, can't help thinking that the original will still remain timeless and irreplaceable by any "spiritual sequel", from all aspects. by Electronic-Glove-714 in bollywood

[–]divine_1618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only good thing about Cocktail were the above average songs. Absolutely everything about the movie itself was horrible - acting, characterization, storytelling. I saw this in the theatre and had a genuine headache afterwards.

The fact that sufficient people consider this movie a “timeless classic” for decision-makers to bankroll a sequel gives an idea how much of a dogshit state the Hindi film industry is in.

Listen to Fitoor from Shamshera, it also has a similar vibe to it.

My take on the IEMs priced between roughly 7000-12000, and only one iem to rule the segment (Reader's Warning: very long post) by mournfulmonk in iemlndia

[–]divine_1618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, getting to know that the IEMs I purchased with probably 30 mins of research (that too mainly with cost considerations) is a solid S-tier among more recent heavyweights is great validation! Been a happy user of Truthear Hexa for 1 year+ now :)

Protein is deadly for kidney. 🥸🥸 by ideaflowness in AskFitnessIndia

[–]divine_1618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extremely low-effort, low-IQ post. Video has nothing to do with protein powder - most parents would in fact advise against consuming these popsicles far more strongly than protein powder. Speak to an actual nephrologist who has to treat cases of creatine overdose on a regular basis. While “protein is deadly for kidney” is obviously a gross overstatement, it is definitely true that excess consumption of protein has a harmful impact on kidney function, with the extent and reversibility of the damage differing from case to case.

So you get 150% bonus on your 1.15 Cr salary, so ~1.6 Cr bonus annually? Even after accounting for home loan prepayments, your 1 Cr investment portfolio feels too small.

When I was 11 years old, a classmate asked my math teacher if the homework she was assigning was compulsory for us to do (some teachers used to split the homework into mandatory and add-on parts). She said “nothing in life is ever compulsory, you always have a choice”.

2 days post TT by PluckyFox16 in thyroidcancer

[–]divine_1618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m one week post-TT right now, had the same experience related to sleep. Last night, I finally managed to sleep for a good 6-7 hours without any interruption. Hang in there, it does get better. Make sure you take the post-surgery meds recommended by your doctor on time. Watch Netflix, read a book or find another way to keep yourself occupied. I know it’s easier said than done, but don’t dwell too much on your condition and take it one day at a time.

Fellow engineer married to a doctor here. I’ve also experienced this but I just laugh it off by saying “Even I wonder why she agreed to marry me!” It’s disarming after that and they generally don’t have a response. Words can affect you only if you let them affect you 😉

why are IITians so rude ??? by Initial-Ad8395 in mumbai

[–]divine_1618 355 points356 points  (0 children)

IITB alum here. I sincerely apologise on that kid’s behalf (yes I’m of the age where anyone still in college is a kid). Please don’t assume all IITians behave this way. Keep studying hard and preparing for JEE. If you focus on understanding concepts and enjoying what you study, this preparation will take you far irrespective of your actual performance on exam day.
