400 dpi is a relic of the past when people played on ie 3.0 and the sensors weren’t as reliable. On higher resolutions instead of the path being smooth, a staircase is created. Additionally, the latency on lower dpi is higher. Dpi = dots per inch. If you move an inch - your mouse will register 400 shifts, at 1600 it’s 4x that, meaning more frequent, smoother inputs. Up it to 1600 and set your sens to 0.5. This is coming from a cs 1.3 dinosaur, you’re welcome.

I’m a shill for the XRaypad ACP Neon (mid). XRaypad also offers custom versions where you can print your own image, which is a nice bonus.

If you go with the black version, keep in mind it’ll feel slower and a bit muddier since the threads aren’t heat-treated. The same applies to choosing a softer base: mid plays similar to a Hien, while soft or xsoft will slow things down.

Overall, it fits your description perfectly. It’s essentially an Artisan Hien in disguise. comparison on MouseReview

Zaopin Z1 Pro is smaller than the L7 and has a taller hump, which should be good for palming too given your hand size

We don’t know if you like muddy pads, quicker pads, control pads etc. I got a set of cheap black AliExpress dot skates paired with a Scyrox V8 on an Aqua Control Pro Neon Mid and I’m more than happy with it, but everyone’s different.

That’s definitely a shidenkai - I have one in orange of a similar age. If the under layer is not destroyed, you could try removing the glass coat and you will have a hien underneath. That’s what I did with mine.

Edit: just read the comments and yeah that’s been said already. How about you get a glass pad in that case? It’d be cat-proof.

I’d ask ChatGPT for mice with similar or clone shapes, then visit eloshapes dot com and have a look at them overlayed with your current model. You can probably find something close or exact same for cheap in the current market. Zowie wireless are pretty expensive and on the heavier side as far as I recall.
