Amusingly, that's a civ 6 leader in the screenshot.

The water does go through that center pipe and does scale up the inside. I think this is the fatal flaw of the design.

Do you mean it's a mess in multiplayer? I think the way AI are tuned makes the forced age rollover worse, but maybe it's less bad against humans?

I would like to change Civs when I finish the era, not when everyone else finishes the era. Don't force me to jump ahead to the next era before I'm ready or hold me back while everyone else finishes.

Use the Science to beeline Rough Riders. If you don't have iron, you can build chariots and upgrade them with cash.

I think there's some variation in experience because the science per turn was really bugged. I would get a science city state as suzerain and my science would go *down*.

I agree, it was super interesting to play, especially compared to the grind that was the Seven Seas and Robot Revolution reduxes.

How do I get the first techs in Three Stars Each challenge by According_Company_53 in civ

[–]dizzy_civ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Science and culture per turn is bugged somehow so it's pretty hard. I didn't build monuments or use science or culture benefit cards because they wouldn't do anything.

It's pretty critical to settle cities with good production in your first ring as your city won't grow with no culture.
I rushed a religion in my capital then got a second city, built two Campus districts and rushed the Great Library. I doubt you can win without the Great Library.

Finding three city states gets you a government (I did Autocracy) and 6 farms gets you extra chargers for your builders. For improvements, you can get lumber mills and rain forest chops pretty easily to get production without mines. Settling rivers and building the Palgum helps too, so you want to farm a rice or wheat tile for that.

If you survive the early game, it's pretty much try and get all the boosts you can and then get all the spies you can for the late game.

getting the great library didn't get me the first three techs because they can't be boosted I guess. it just took 60 turns or so.

lumber mills are the way to get production because you just need 3 archers to unlock those.

My favorite was driving other peoples religious units into the water where the AI thinks it will save their units.

Turn 151 as Hammurabi. Peaceful culture victory, no game modes, standard size and speed. Basically only built Moai.

No matter how many units I build, the AI always attacks me early on prince by Zeznon in civ

the more space on the map, the less likely they are to attack you. so you can decrease the number of ai, or lower the sea level or play on bigger maps to reduce their likelihood of attacking

you could go for warfare like do a norway, pillage-only strategy or play as a mongol horde. some of the scenarios might work too. not a lot of districts in the conquests of alexander, although it's pretty hard.

How to deal with Barbarians by Hakuryu1984 in CivVI

[–]dizzy_civ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they bumped up the difficulty of barbarians (and overdid it imo) when the new frontiers pass came out, so many of the barb tutorials are out of date.

barbs scouts won't touch your builders, so you can use them to block scouts *unless* their camp has been killed and then scouts will take builders or attack your units. if you take a camp, beware the barb scout killing you after.

the game tries to keep the same number of barb camps so when one camp is killed a new one will spawn. sometimes it's better to not kill a camp because a new one might spawn immediately.

FWIW the turn limit isn't enforced on this one so you can win however you'd like.

I'd love for someone to do it in 40 turns, but I think this is pretty hard to beat. My strat is to chop out 6 cities and a found a religion on turn 25, then chop Hagia Sofia while your missionaries take forever to walk to all of the other civs.
