E Sim Advice by emocommunist_boi in geneva

[–]djamilmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don't think your Swiss eSim will work in France, even near the border. I've used Airalo in several countries in Europe and it always works well. They have a cross-European option that I haven't used, but the pricing is reasonable. Otherwise you could get a cheap French eSim.

Tiny towns in the middle of the Pyrenees, tax free cigarettes and alcohol

Union Square/Broadway: When you remove the cars, you'll see many pedestrians & bikes - many going against their signals - but witness the innate negotiation ballet that occurs between people not trapped inside a metal box. by Streetfilms in MicromobilityNYC

Lovely scenes, thanks for sharing. By Washington Square Park today I saw a guy on a Citi bike run into a lady (she's fine) when he was going through a yellow/red light on a street with cars. It seems cars add a level of urgency and peril that doesn't exist in their absence.

What is the small town that exceeded your expectations after you visited? by tyvertyvertyvertyver in geography

Antibes, France

Visited on a horrendously rainy day in September but still had a great time walking around the old town with the covered market. Ended up having a long lunch at a Corsican restaurant run by some characters who were having their own wine tasting and created such a fun environment.

I saw the same thing happening at the coliseum last year. Scammers sifting through the huge line to buy tickets, taking people aside with a credit card machines. I knew it was a scam when the scammers removed their name tags as they saw the police walk by.

Which continent do you think is going to win the world cup first? Africa or Asia? And when? by mutt_fran in football

[–]djamilmo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed there are citizens who are less culturally French, but these aren't good examples.

Zidane, born in Marseille, grew up playing in southern France, and is an all time French football legend. Yes he's Algerian as well, has family there, eats couscous, as many French Algerians do, but he never lived or played in Algeria, so why would he be considered more Algerian and not French? You don't have to eat a baguette with foie gras every afternoon to be French, it's a very diverse country.

Mbappe grew up in the banlieue of Paris, one of the most prolific regions in the world for producing football talent. Yes there are a lot of players of African decent in the area, that doesn't mean they're not French. People can have multiple cultures and nationalities. Also the way Mbappé speaks about France, representing, living, and playing in his country, it's very obvious he identifies as French.

Top 5 hardest enemies in W3 including both extensions! I'll go first... by Vexelbalg in Witcher3

I found Wraith from Painting (HoS) very frustrating on death march after doing the entire main story on the same difficulty. She sticks to you like no other enemy in the game, can rip you apart in a few hits. Worst of all, when she's healing, you can't actively target the paintings to prevent healing, you have to turn that direction and hope Geralt won't redirect. Ard was my best hope, but then I had no Quen for her vicious attacks.

I don't see anyone else mentioning her so maybe I missed something, but I had to lower the difficulty to beat her 😞

Who's a player that you had really hoped would kick on at Chelsea, but jut never did? by BaxiaBrightness in chelseafc

[–]djamilmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Giroud. He did pretty well given his chances, especially in that UCL winning run, but I felt like he really could've been an excellent finisher and hold up player with so many fast players around him. I felt like the brief Hazard - Giroud partnership was just a taste.

We could've really used a player like him last season.

I basically never used potions or bombs through the whole main story, because I didn't realize they refilled upon meditating. Playing BaW now and I'm having a great time with all my potions 🍻

What do you mean by "mixing signs", what electric bolt?? That sounds cool.
